Clapper denied 1. there were wiretaps on Trump or Trump aides 2. that there had been any warrants obtained.
This naturally makes people believe there has been no surveillance. That would be wrong.
The Flynn conversations and the conversations with the presidents of Mexico and Australia proves there was a tap. The leaking proves there was an attempt to undermine.

A January 19 New York Times report on wiretap investigations involving the Trump team and Russian officials stemmed from intercepts picked up overseas that did not require any warrants.
New York Times Public Editor Liz Spayd differentiated the paper’s claims from those of former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who said that warrants were never obtained to wiretap Trump or his associates.
“I reached out to editors in the Washington bureau to seek their help in clarifying the difference between Clapper’s — and The Times’s — assertions that no warrants had been issued, and the reference to wiretapping in the January story,” Spayd wrote.
“Elisabeth Bumiller, the bureau chief, said the January story was referring to information picked up from wiretaps and other intelligence collected overseas, a process that requires no warrants.”

The new leader of Democrats in the Senate says Donald Trump is being "really dumb" for picking a fight with intelligence officials, suggesting they have ways to strike back, after the president-elect speculated Tuesday that his "so-called" briefing about Russian cyberattacks had been delayed in order to build a case.
"Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you," said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer Tuesday evening on MSNBC after host Rachel Maddow informed him that intelligence sources told NBC news that the briefing had not been delayed.

Not only that, he's an ugly bastard too. I don't care how many AF stars he wore, that guy's picture shows up in the dictionary under "fugly."
He tends to not be well-informed, either. Or maybe he's just a congenital liar.

I think Barry did a marvelous job gutting the entire military of non-politicos and free-thinkers who don't adhere to a specific political agenda.
Of course, for any general/flag officer to get his star, he's gotta be a politician to some level. He's gotta learn how to play patty-cake with the ****sticks in Congress. And he's got to keep his mouth shut about his political opinions, not to mention keep his dick in his pants around the women with whom he works. Tall orders for some of these guys...
