President George W. Bush is being interviewed by Bob Costas on NBC.
-
Oh well.
I knew there was a reason I won't waste time watching the Olympics.
-
Straight to the political angles.......
Sigh.
I left the room but I think he handled himself well for the first few questions.
-
bob asked W what the us should do since china seems strong and the US has problems, and W came back to say that we don't have problems
-
I think he handled himself well. He seemed relaxed and unfazed by Costas' questions. I've been really impressed with his visit as a whole.

What political angles? I gave up watching the Olympics many MANY moons ago for all the political angles that go on within that nest of snakes. I especially didn't have any interest in THESE Olympics because the unstated purpose of these Olympics was to provide the Chinese pig with the Mother of all Maybelline moments, in an effort to get the majority of the thinking world to instinctively come up with any other image than that of tanks rolling over students in Tien An Minh Square when they think of China.
And besides, there is no Football in the Olympics, so I'm not interested in being bored to hell and back for 16 days.
Add to that the fact that I don't watch the network news anymore - I will go Elvis on the friggin' TV screen the next time there's an article on how to improve my sex life on the friggin' national news broadcast. As such, Bob Costas doesn't even show up as a blip on my radar. Add to that my disdain for just about any position George W. Bush has taken in the past 4-6 years - with the SOLE exception of how the war on Islamofascism has been prosecuted - and I utterly fail to see what would have drawn me to this particular interview...

I love the Olympics and admire the sacrifices made by these athletes and their families. I also love that despite the fact that our government doesn't rip children from their families as toddlers and make them train 8 hours a day, we still dominate. Even in amateur sports capitalism works.

Costas immediately started asking Bush about China's "abysmal human rights record", etc....

I saw this the other night. *shrug* I thought it was fine.
