Wow! I had no idea that Angelina Jolie was such a pinhead.
I guess the nut don't fall to far from the tree.
It may seem as if most entertainment industry figures are aligning with Barack Obama and just a few with John McCain, but there are still a handful of famous names who are still on the fence. And both campaigns are well aware of one star who stands out among the undecideds: Angelina Jolie.
Both campaigns have reached out to her, apparently to court her support. But in a statement to Variety provided by political adviser Trevor Neilson, Jolie says that she is waiting to make up her mind.
"I have not decided on a candidate," Jolie says, "I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world."
Unlike many other celebrity endorsements, Jolie's carries the weight and influence of her extensive humanitarian work around the world, as the goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Her statement was an indication that she would be open to choosing a candidate.
<snip>
olie has said very little about the presidential race since.
In June, when Entertainment Weekly asked her whether she talked politics with Clint Eastwood, a longtime Republican, on the set of the upcoming movie, "The Changeling," she said, "Actually, we don't disagree as much as you'd think. But I'm registered independent and I'm still undecided. So I'm looking at McCain as well as Obama."
How dare that woman actually think about her choice, instead of lining up behind the DUmp?? ::)

1. She doesn't need to hear any such comments. Who does she THINK
will further support issues like international justice, refugees and children in crisis around the world. It should be obvious.

30. Jesus. How could she be undecided about which candidate is better on
international justice and children's issues? Pinhead is right.
Now these are true statements. Given the work done for decades by Cindy McCain, it is obvious...though probably not to the DUmp. :evillaugh:

6. I pay attention to politics, so..
I don't even have to research McCain. Maybe she didn't have the time to pay attention like we do.
mvd is proud to be ignorant!!

Shouldn't her activism be centered on womens rights? I guess not if she votes for McCain.
Furthermore, how dare that woman care about any issue I haven't approved!! trumad, you are a true misogynist.

She knows all of the help the Bush administration has given to Africa and other countries. She has seen it first hand. She knows what happened in Iraq before we went into it. She may make some nasty personal choices (well before she hooked up with the hottest man alive), but she isn't stupid. You have to be pretty damn stupid to want Obama to run anything more than a McDonald's in this country.
-
I find it more troubling that the media is saying that each campaign is "courting" her and wanting her endorsement. She's a celebrity. I really don't care how many babies Angelina has adopted or how many little urchins have a bowl of rice because of her good deeds. She's still just a movie star.
Don't get me wrong, I admire her charitable works. She does seem to be sincere in that regard. But come on, she's a pretty face who makes movies. Something that makes her charitable life possible. She has even admitted as much in interviews.
I'm tired of the Paris Hiltons and Angelina Jolies of this world getting more attention in this election than the candidates and their policies.

She was still awesome in the movie "Wanted" :-)

Bob Geldof sure does.

Yes, and in Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
I can take Angelina the Silver Screen Goddess. Angelina Savior of the World and Political Icon? Meh...

...but, to be honest, I really could give a rat's ass about sending aid to Africa, or any other place on Earth. Send'em food, and it's confiscated by warlords. We NEED to be sending weapons, if anything. We tried that shit.....several times. We sent tons of food to Somalia. Didn't work.
-
^but it's for the chillllren!!!!!!!
Nevermind the corrupt warlords and evil dictators and broken govts that steal what''s given to them.
I've tried to tell people before. Famine and poverty can easily be prevented. It's the people in charge you should be afraid of.

OK, I know I'm woefully old-fashioned, backwards, trailer-trash living out in the middle of nowhere having been a housewife my entire married life, but can someone please tell me what the hell right I've missed out on? Being such a subservient little waif, I'm pretty sure I missed out on it. I control the family spending, pay the bills, buy all the food, plan the meals, decide what crops/critters we should raise on the farm. buy shoes and matching handbags pretty much whenever I want so I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm missing. Granted, I don't have a penis (and since I'm not pansexual wouldn't do well with a strap-on) but do have one available to me whenever I want (men are incredibly generous about sharing theirs) so what right DON'T I have? I know, it's probably some "man" secret like the key to solving all plumbing problems or knowing the correct tire pressure for my truck tires, but I'd still like to know. Like every other "liberated" woman I'd really appreciate the opportunity to wallow in my oppresion.

I'm probably gonna get slapped for this but I agree with this man on the subject "Let Africa Sink" .

When it comes to any analysis of the problems facing Africa, Western society, and particularly people from the United States, encounter a logical disconnect that makes clear analysis impossible. That disconnect is the way life is regarded in the West (it’s precious, must be protected at all costs etc.), compared to the way life, and death, are regarded in Africa. Let me try to quantify this statement.

Cindie, the answers don't matter. Women's Rights, along with Queer Rights, and now Civil Rights, aren't about "rights" at all. To best understand what it all means - never take your eye off the goal. The goal is to destroy capitalism, destroy conservatism, destroy traditional western culture, and institutute a one-world all-socialist (at least) government.
As long as you know this, nothing the left does is confusing or worthy of your time spent pondering. Liberalism is the work of satan himself. It is his most powerful weapon in his war against humanity and our God Almighty.
Thankfully, we know who wins in the end.

Just like my Momma. The type of woman that understands that her greatest achievement in life is not how much fame or fortune she can aquire but how good a home she makes and the type family she leaves behind. The type of women that once raised great Americans, male and female. Womens libbers understand that they will never be able to rise to the level of a "good woman" so they aspire to drag those that can down.

Considering that she's the darling daughter of John Voight (who's already made his views on the BarrackStar! well known), and she and Brad have bought the movie rights to Atlas Shrugged with the intention to follow Ayn Rand's wishes of remaining faithful to the book's anti-communism storyline, I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for her to endorse a simpering idiot like Teh Obamessiah, or expect her to faint at teh BarackStar!'s feet like a bubble-headed groupie anytime soon.
-
I must have missed something. I thought she was a moonbat just not a hard line kind of moonbat that would be found on DU.

Are you kidding? You shoulda heard the bunching of the HollyWierd panties when she "admitted" to some idiot interviewer not only that she had copies of the Desert Eagles she carried as the character Lara Croft - in the same house as those twins she just birthed - but that she trains regularly in their use, and plans to ventilate "anybody that threatened her children". Apparently Brad's not exactly a wilting wallflower in regards to proper handling and use of firearms either, if Jolie is to be believed.
As far as their involvement in Atlas Shrugged goes, Jolie is the one who pulled together the scratch necessary to buy the rights from Rand's estate. She will be playing the lead heroine in the picture herself - Dagny Taggart - and apparently has been the prime emotional force driving it's production. (I'm getting really anxious for the release of the picture (from the same folks producing and distributing the Chronicles of Narnia movies - Lion's Gate, I think) set for sometime next year.)
-
From watching some of the things she's said over the years, I can't help but think she(and maybe even Brad) are doing what happens to a lot of people as they age and mature and that is growing more conservative or at least independent in how they approach issues.
