According to Fox News, Colmes passed away after a short illness.

Neil Cavuto or Kimberly Guilfoyle showed clips of Colmes when he was a stand-up comedian before his FNC gig.

Had no idea that he was a stand up comic.  Clearly disagreed with him ideologically, but RIP, Alan.
