A more appropriate way to think of our "electorial college" voting system
It is just like voting on a "curve". As long as the smaller populated states think they need a "special" system to help them keep up.
I would venture that these states are most likely to allow schools to grade on a "curve" so they can still qualify for Federal educational funds.
Most of the posts in this thread are nothing but fawning and agreeing until I saw the one from "AngryAmish", and I must admit if I ever meet this idiot it will get a nice throat punch at the minimum.

They know that their certainty of a demographic shift if they could get illegals the right to vote is now dead.

As many have posted here before, the writers of the Constitution recognized the certainty that there would be times when populous states would try to exploit and oppress less populous states, and they designed the Electoral College and the US Senate to be hindrances to such exploitation and oppression. Needless to say oppressor/exploiter-wannabes like folks on DU would be unhappy at being thwarted and at the means of being thwarted.
:pisscontest: -off oppressor/exploiter-wannabes!

OK dummie. When do you want me to buy your one way ticket to North Korea? No pesky little constitution or rule of law there.
Come over here and PM me with your info and I will make sure you and your stuff will get to North Korea. Won't cost you a thing except renouncing your US citizenship and turning over your passport.
C'mon dummie. Take me up on it. If you don't, you can just STFU.
