Yep, bad situation there, not likely to end well for the Ukrainians.

Damn, as much as I love the Ukrainian people, the whole society and culture of the country needs to sit down and examine why they've been "losers" most of their history.  They probably refrain from honest self-examination because they know that for the most part they themselves are to blame for their problems.

Well now, I'm the last person who can be accused of being unsympathetic to the Ukrainians, and yes, I'm fully aware of all the crimes and murders perpetuated against them, but for a people destined for greatness, they've been uncharacteristically supine.
