Title: Manny's primitives discuss West Virginia being for Bernie

http://jackpineradicals.com/boards/topic/shthead-joe-manchin-would-be-wise-to-remember-that-wv-is-also-bernie-country/

Manny's got to start exercising some editorial control over his message board, lest things get out of hand and his site becomes like Skins's island, widely known for its crackpotness.

1. Well…

In general elections, West Virginia left the Democratic Party after it carried in 1992 and 1996 for Bill Clinton.

When it came to the percentage-points margins by which Donald Trump had carried 30 states, West Virginia ranked as his No. 2 best state. (His No. 1 was Wyoming. Trump carried West Virginia by +42 and Wyoming by +47.)

I think Joe Manchin will make the switch to the Republican Party. If he doesn’t, he would be in position to get unseated in the 2018 midterm congressional elections. The state is trending Republican. And I have the feeling it isn’t just coal mining.

3. Bernie would have outperformed Hillary

The populous counties for Huntington and Wheeling were in the 2008 column for Barack Obama. They flipped Republican in 2012 for Mitt Romney. Donald Trump carried them in 2016. Every county in West Virginia carried Republican in both 2012 and 2016. Had Bernie been the nominee in 2016, and won the general election, he may have lost the state between –15 to –20 rather than Hillary’s –42 percentage points.

^^^but still, that doesn't explain why the turncoat Democrat needs to worry about the Revenge of the gimme crowd.

One thing about the primitives that will always amaze me is their ability to come to conclusions that no actual facts can possibly ever lead to.

You notice that too.

You also put it into better, clearer words than I've managed to do so far.

Or put another way, they can look at a set of facts, then come to a conclusion that is perfectly, diametrically opposed to them.

Reality. Based. Community.

Hillary is up by 5 in Florida, 8 in Pennsylvania, and 22 in West Virginia. Looks like a short night for Trump.
