I stand with Elizabeth Edwards and I , too , am proud of how John conducted himself today.

He handles himself with grace and humility and I am proud of the way he dealt with this painful episode.
The Nightline interview was blunt and honest. It was also obvious that there is more that is not being said. I think there is more to this story and it is political.As Democrats we certainly eat our own and this is a very sad commentary.
God Bless John and Elizabeth Edwards and their families. I hope all the other who have made this matter into an unnecessary spectacle and rejoice in the suffering of others get what they deserve.

I just want to say that I still support and admire John Edwards more than any other male politician. His "personal life" isn't my business and never will be. This, as with Hillary and Bill is between hysband and wife.. Elizabeth thought enough of John that she campaigned for him and stood by his side "knowing" about this trivial affair.
Anyone can think as they wish but I hope all those who stand in "judgement" remember when their candidate of choice is vilified. And I hope they think it is just as important for us to know all the bedroom expolits of whatever candidate there is as well as their policy issues!

I think it is obvious that this affair was over in 2006 and ther was no reason for Edwards to go "public" with it. It was finished.
I think Obama unearthed this and used it to force John out of the race. Furthermore I think he wanted to eliminate him from any contention for any cabinet post because he doesn't support the agenda. Hillary had better watch her back. You can be sure there is a reason that she is playing "nice: with Obama and it is to protect herself.
Obama is employing the same tactics he did in Chicago. he cleared the slate. he will not stop with Edwards. This is what the OBOTS meant recently when they stated Edwards didn't endorse "soon enough". They are currently going after Bill. There will be others. Obama makes the GOP slime machine look good in comparison and I am sicked by how many Dems are falling for it.
I thought this Arm Flappe was humorous. One little goon busts another little goon.

yep... while we were watching all the different countrie's athletes at the opening ceremony last night, i was perusing DU to watch the in-fighting over Edwards..
i saw dozens of posts that stated, "if this were happening in Europe... nobody would care."

Amazingly enough, one can be quite "sexually active" with one's spouse. More than once a day if one wants. And you don't have the added stress of having to hide it from everyone, which, it seems to me, would add MORE stress to some poor overworked soul with his hand "over the button".
