If more Germans had "rioted" in the 1930s...we could probably have avoided WWII.

I'd look for more turmoil and violence. The election was tampered with, the GOP criminally stole a SCOTUS seat that should have gone to Obama fair and square...dooming the common man against Multinational Corporations for another generation.

Not even how to define them.
The US has been rioting since the Boston Tea Party, and the Revolutionary War would have been just another riot if the colonists had lost. And they damn near did.
Shays, Whiskey, Kansas-Nebraska border warlets, draft riots, the Pullman strike, Newark, Detroit, and the big one in 1861. Oh, and Berkely in the past. Can't go much more than a decade before
Aside from organized gang violence (Shays, Al Capone, MS9...) riots can happen at any time when the situation is right for it. Some riots are organized violently, others become violent, but when some switch is pulled, individuals lost themselves in the pack. Just as dogs who can't help but attack with the pack, people get drawn in and lose themselves in the group. The dynamics of this are well-known.
It would be nice to know what triggers the violence, aside from instigators, and I have no doubt people with many degrees are studying this, but one common thread exists-- the frustration of the rioters. Violence may be spontaneous, or be exploited by agitators, but it is NOT political and has no basis in any of the main political or social constructs. It is very simply that when people feel pushed beyond a certain point and feel they have nothing to lose, they lose it.
Seems we can't go much more than a decade before some new Hatfield-McCoy nonsense pops up and someone throws a punch. Then the fingers start wagging as everyone gears up for the fight--- and forgets what the fight was about.

Milo needs to talk in a Texas city that might be more receptive to him, and far less receptive to any sort of demonstrators. Lubbock and Amarillo are two cities that come to mind. Concealed carry is far more lenient in Texas, than California, or New York, or Illinois . . . :whistling:

Are DU-folk so utterly stooooooooopid as to think that riot was anything but planned? 1. How many people carry explosive fireworks in their purses or backpacks? 2. How many people carry around large rocks? 3. Does anybody believe that UC Berserkeley, with its history, would be so stooopid as to landscape using rocks? 4. How many people carry round the necessary materials to start fires?
BTW, the explosive fireworks would have been readily available last weekend and week over in SF due to the Chinese New Year celebrations. But, those (supposed) student would have had to make the 4-6 hour trip across the Bay Bridge, into Chinatown, and back across the bridge. 5. Does anybody believe scores of UCB students spontaneously decided to make scores of individual trips through Bay Area traffic and SF's access and parking nightmare and back again (after wading through CNY crowds to find sellers of fireworks)?
Really, the only meaningful question about the rioters is whether or not they were paid.
BTW, KSFO interviewed Jose' Diaz, the president of Berserkeley's college Rs, who was there last evening, and he mentioned that UCB campus police basically did a Baltimore - let the rioters do whatever they damn well pleased.

IIRC, in the late 1Xs and early 20s the Communists were attempting coups and rioting. In the late 20s and early 30s it was Nazi thug vs. Communist thug fighting and rioting. The Nazis proved to the the badder thugs.
What we've seen the past 2 or 3 years has been Lib & Prog thugs doing their thing unopposed (to some degree, abetted by Obama & Co.). I don't see any meaningful/significant Nazi-equivalent. They only exist in DU-folks' chemically-aided fantasies. What may arise is people equipped and prepared to defend themselves and police who will be freed from arcane Obamian ROE. Hopefully the latter will make self-defense action by the former infrequently necessary.
