Mayberry Machiavelli (20,966 posts)
Massive and prolonged general strike.
Probably one of the only things I can think of that might compel a removal of the disease that afflicts us, should all else fail.
Does this make sense to anyone else?

1. It's premature
A lot of nitwit Republicans, expecially those in deeply conservative states, are still in the honeymoon phase with these assholes. It will take some time before a government that no longer works at all and inconveniences them daily to get the stars out of their eyes.
Now he's got a few hundred appointments to bully. Government has several million civil service workers, though, and he can't do a thing about them, not hiring or firing or threatening their jobs. He will try to take on the civil service, though, trying his best to **** them over and I think that's where you're going to see the first strikes.
The next few years are going to be fun to watch. Do take heart from this one fact: what is happening is not our fault, none of it.
You'd be surprised how much peace of mind you can get from that.

2. I'm not talking about now. I'm considering different possible futures.
Ones that seem a lot more likely today than they did a few months ago.

It should hurt to be that stupid.

I usually does, eventually.

And then they will be fired like the air traffic controllers back in the 80's were. This might also give Trump a chance restructure the civil service so that no longer is allowed to unionize. So yes DUmmies, please, please encourage a strike.

Actually, it is.
Anytime the Dem party and liberals, who are the modern day embodiment of the National Socialist German Worker's Party, asserts itself into the body politic in a way that tramples on the US Constitution, there's going to be resistance. That's what is happening.

Is it the 10th time yet that DU-folk have called for this brilliant measure that could never happen? They can't even organize an effective boycott of CfA (backfired big time) or Hobby Lobby (doing quite well; persuaded my wife to find where the nearest one is, and she's driven the half hour to the store - and half hour back - several times).

Warpers doesn't get out among normal people much evidently. Most normal people are delighted at what Trump is doing and understand it as well. We aren't snowflakes driven to hysteria every time we imagine Trump sneezed.

You're aware of her life story, aren't you?
Warpy, the defrocked warped primitive, is 67, 68 years old now. She alas came into life with the gender of her mother, but the body of her father, including his broad shoulders, husky build, and significant body hair. I'm not kidding when I say she has a face like Hindenberg's. Despite her stoutness, she's pretty short too.
She became a registered nurse while living in Massachusetts decades ago. Being a woman with woman yearnings, she ached for a man, and finally found one. He was as ugly as sin, but he was at least a man. He said he loved Warpy for herself, but that wasn't true; he loved Warpy for what she could get him.
He wanted drugs (anyone notice how antagonistic Warpy is, towards drug law enforcement?), pointing out to her that as a nurse, she had access to all sorts of drugs. And she'd get him some, if she really loved him.
So she started swiping pills from hospital patient dosages, substituting fake ones. It didn't matter to her that patients needed those drugs, the real ones; all that mattered to her was that a man loved her (anyone notice how antagonistic Warpy is, towards men, members of the male race, these days?).
She got caught and lost her license to practice as a registered nurse. She could've gotten into yet more trouble, but as corrupt as Massachusetts is, she blackmailed and got bought off. She took her modest new nest-egg and moved to New Mexico, a remote part of that state, up where four states share a boundary.
She's getting feeble and going blind now, but that's what hate and anger and bitterness and rage does to a person, makes the person grow old and sick too fast.

I love how the denizens of DU believe they're in a war room setting and part of some grand counter movement that is about to bulldoze DT's entire administration out of office.

1.) Hadn't heard it before. Blaming classes of other people for the consequences of her own stupidity. How very Progressive of her ... really ... I mean that.
2.) I know I'm being selective, but she inversely reminds me of a Septuagenarian priest I've seen running 10Ks and half marathons. His manner of life and ethic seem to have served him well.

Yeah, you would think that kind of stupidity would have deleted itself out of the gene pool by now.

Wow. I never knew all of that. How long ago did this happen?
