Any ideas on why GoFundMe stopped taken applications with PayPall?
I tried to get a GoFundMe account going in order to help out a neighbor falling into difficulties last Saturday night, when his garage was hit by what appears to be the work of an arsonist.
I found out while applying for an account @ GoFundME that it won’t accept my Paypall; I must now apply for a WePay account…….unsuccessfully I must add!
Any answers would be dearly appreciated …

1. I got hacked in Paypal
THREE TIMES. The last one was just last week. I barely ever used the account as I just wanted it if I needed to buy something that *only* takes Paypal. Someone somehow hacked the account and took over $500 and Paypal went to my bank account to get it ~ with an old account that no longer existed as I had to delete the bank account connection the first time I was hacked. This last time I just deleted the account. If a seller only uses Paypal, well I guess they will not get any sale from me.
The point I am making is that Paypal seems to be having problems with hacking such as people going into other people’s Paypal accounts and then getting it to take money from the Paypal owner’s bank accounts. It is beyond a mess and I suspect people like me just no longer deal with Paypal.

2. I have been using Paypal for at least 3 years now, and it's been okay!
I will tell this though: On the first year, some Nigerian King …, but I reported the incident(a must), and it’s been fine eversince!
Here is some reading on both Paypal & GoFundMe, it’s interesting to say the least!

3. Yeah I had my account for years
…almost since it opened, and for that period of time I never had any problems ~ even when Paypal was hacked a few years ago I was fine.
Then all of a sudden (quick guy, that ‘Oliver Sudden’ don’t you agree)?, last summer I got a hack that took (for me) a lot of money in mostly small increments ~ and also had the “repeat withdrawal” on them. Well I am an old lady and all I have is my Social Security checks so $5 is a lot for me as I have to use every penny for living. More scary is Paypal told me these withdrawals were coming from my own computer and I am the only one using it! But then, after talking to others in my church and community, they also had those kinds of Paypal hacks while being the only user of their computers. I used to do help desk for a network security company that hardwired firewalls, so I know a little about hacking and network security. While I trust Paypal as telling the truth (or half of it), I am not entirely convinced the hack originally came from my computer or router but think it is quite possible the hack came through Paypal more likely and they cannot admit that to me as a customer.
Interesting link you gave, I scanned through it but want to take a deeper reading of that issue later today. Lord knows the more info we’ve got about hacks and their ilk, the better.
So I just got out of Paypal and hope my troubles are over. I also did a deep cleaning of my computer with my ISP, and deleted what I thought might be the problem from the data I got. It took about a week off my life, which as an old lady, is almost to an end so every precious moments are appreciated *not* on the phone or geeking out on my puter, lol
