Predict who each party will choose as its nominee for president and predict who will win the 2008 presidential election...
I predict a race between Hillary Clinton and John McCain with Clinton being victorious in the end.
Go!
-
I still say NE/GB and NE takes it all.
-
Mitt against Clinton.....Mitt wins....DU explodes...TNO posts a lame poll.
-
why do people think McCain is the front runner??? I heard Rush saying this today and looking at all the headlines, it would appear to be true.
Romney is in the lead... for now.
as for my prediction?
i will be surprised if Obama survives the Clinton War Machine.. and I think Romney will be our guy.
he's not my first pick, but I can stomach him over McCain and Giuliani..
-
Ron Paul will run as an independent and get 90% of the votes. :rotf:

with Richardson?? in what parallel universe if Richardson even known? he's a nice guy, but he's totally plain.. although, our VPs tend to be sorta vanilla...

He never attacked anyone on the dummy debates...so I think he was secretly applying for the position..he is bland, but most are..(with the exception of darth vador)...Maybe an Obama/Edwards as they seem to stand on the same side of every issue.
-
Looks like Mitt & the Huck against Hitlery & Bill R. which would balance both tickets from a regional standpoint. Bill's suck up to Hillary seems like a good bet and the Huck is just a wild guess for VP.
If the economy does not go into the crapper, Mitt will win the Presidency.

if Edwards were smart, he'd see the writing on the wall and offer up his southern voters for the VP slot.. Obama and Edwards could be a ticket with pull, for their side.

I would like that but he has even got soft in the head for singing the praises of her for running a good campaign. Also, about him stating there was nothing to the Paul story. I don't why Repubs. can not keep their trap shut; when Repubs. fall into a hole, Demos pile dirt on them but the Repubs seem to want to dig them out. Just plain stupid to me.

I see it between Mitt and the hildabeast with Romney winning in a landslide. One DUmmy will call for an assassination.

My prediction, we're ****ed no matter who wins, it's just a question of how hard.

Mitt/Fred (hopefully) against Clinton/some poor sap. If that is the case, the Mitt ticket will win because even liberals hate Hillary. If it against Obama/some poor sap, then the GOP might be ****ed because he is looked upon like the Messiah of the left.
It won't be George Bush, that is for sure. :D

i seriously think Hillary is the one for them, whether they like it or not.
Obama, should he actually succeed in getting the nomination, once he starts talking, people will be horrified at his lack of experience and run away from him in droves.

Obama is unelectable. He is inexperienced and he is black. The USA isn't going to vote him in.

this is what my husband keeps saying.. but Hillary, even after being trounced in South Carolina last night, still has way more delegates in her column than Barak..
she is the one.
-
Obama vs Romney
Romney of course wins the presidency.
Barack Hussein Obama is a most unfortunate name. The man doesn't stand a chance.
-
Obama vs Romney I haven't thought about the VPs yet.
I would steal the dems thunder and choose Kay Bailey Hutchison as a Veep.
-
Driving home last night I listened to Obama's victory speech in SC. This guy scares the hell out of me, he's got that JFK charisma thing going (with little behind it ::)) Just commenting that there's probably going to be enough folks to fall for it and I'm thinking (scared) that he may go all the way :thatsright:.
I would steal the dems thunder and choose Kay Bailey Hutchison as a Veep.
Not a bad idea :cheersmate:

well, if Obama goes all the way and becomes The One... once the debates between him and our GOPer, even McCain will easily defeat him.
he's an empty suit. he may be a swell guy with a huge future, but he's just too young and inexperienced right now. I'm about his same age and I dont know ANYbody in our age bracket that is ready to be president. I'll take a 60 or 70 year old ANY day over Obama.
-
I hope you're right.

It isn't you (or me) that will not vote for him for his ethincity. I am just observing that it ain't gonna happen.
Those that make it past that will not allow him in because of his inexperience. Yesterday in the LAT, a fairly well known liberal columnist went over the invalid comparisons between Obama and JFK, Truman, Lincoln, etc. All had tons more experience than Obama, who basically has none. All any Republican candidate need to is read that column back once out loud the real race starts.
Bubba is right about one thing: Both camps are writing the Republican candidate's playbook.
-
If Bill doesn't back off...Hillary will lose her chance.
Listening to the "talking heads" on both FOX and Meet the Press today....Hillary only got the white female vote in SC. Edwards got the white male vote.
IF...big big IF....Obama wins the nomination, and took Edwards as a VP....it could be a challenge for the GOP. Obama would get the black vote and Edwards would take the white male Dem vote.
Hillary scares the hell out of me...regardless of who she picks as a running mate. We, who pay taxes, will be broke if she wins. Or dead from terrorist attacks.
I don't think Obama will win though....however, if his name was John Smith....he would be kicking ass and not be bothered to take names. I also don't think he will get Florida's vote....Hillary is courting the Hispanic vote too much...though that may not translate into votes from the Cuban imigrants.
Now that Fred is out, I 'm not "gung-ho" over any of the candidates. Our vote comes up on Super Tuesday and I have yet to make up my mind.
I like McCain for his military experience, and ultimately, I think that is what will sway my vote. He can surround himself with economic gurus a whole lot easier than he can "terror fighters". If we aren't safe in our homes, our workplaces, and our country...it really won't matter what our health care situation is or how many tax cuts we have.
-
I have a prediction:
Dan Rather won't screw it up for the democrats this time.
-
I saw a McCain rally on C-SPAN earlier today. I didn't see anyone that looked under 50 in the audience.
-
My best guess judging by the performance of the candidates now: Barak Obama versus Mitt Romney
-
Romney will win the GOP nod. Hillary will get the Dem's side after she "does away" with Obama.
-
Heard Rev Al today on The View....he said Bill needs to shut up and back off or Hillary won't have a chance. :-)

I think this is why Bill Clinton keeps flipping out and losing his cool; he knows how easily it would be for Obama to be their nominee. He is immensely likable and charming. But once they get past that, Obama hasnt yet really laid out all his plans for the public. And once they hear what he wants to do, and how much it will cost them... they will not like it.
Bill obviously thinks Hilary has more time in and deserves it more.. which is what galls most of us I think. Nobody 'deserves' to be the president. But he just cant keep his temper in check, it seems.
and Hillary is imploding and Bill is lighting the fuse.. those two are going to flame out if they dont get their shit together and work as a team. I think the stress of being around each other so much may be taking its toll on them... Bill isnt getting much 'stress relief' from his usual ladies cause the cameras are following him around 24/7. And Hilary is probably get tired of having to entertain the ex president since he has nothing to do most of the time between speeches.
-

I'd love to believe that, unfortunately I think that there are a lot of sheeple that will follow the silver tongued devil. The fact that he has little experience in relationship to the issues won't matter much because there'll be a lot of folks that don't relate to the issues either. By that I mean that I think he'll draw out the young vote more than it's ever been drawn out before with his chant of "Change, change, change". He hasn't got a freaking clue as to what he's going to change or how he's going to change it, but he'll sell the rhetoric. It's certainly not my intention to insult the young voters on this board, after all, you're a cut above :-) :-)

well, when it comes to the debates between Obama and Romney ( a man of many hats Obama cannot even begin to compete with in the business world OR the govt) .. or Obama and McCain, McCain just flat has more time in the job and will smoke the kid.
Obama will surely be attractive to the younger set.. but the biggest block of voters in the country is retired, not the young, although the young people are concerned about the war. The problem is, they just dont vote in big enough numbers to matter yet.
Experience and trustworthiness typically win out.. especially during times of war. Nobody is going to feel comfortable giving a war to a kid my age. Obama has lots of time to be president, and he may yet be one day. So unless he pulls some major rabbit out of his hat to impress upon this country that he can drive this war in the right direction (and so far he has said everything wrong about iraq and iran) I just dont honestly believe he can win against the GOP.
Hilary has all those same issues as well; putting a woman in charge during wartime may be too hard for some people to imagine.

Again, Lauri, I certainly hope you're right; just afraid that the rest of the country won't be quite as rational about it as you are. No sense arguing about it, we'll find out in November :cheersmate:

the talking heads may never come out and say, "during war time the US needs and wants a man in charge" that would just be suicide... but believe me when i say, we are all thinking it.
and having said all that, i know the Dems wil get about 49 percent of the votes.. it will be razor close again unless our guy comes out swinging after the general and pulls no punches.

Give me a Margaret Thatcher and I'd vote for her in a nanosecond. I don't think too many normal folks are leery of a woman in charge. We've all had mothers. It is Hillary Clinton. She is a socialist political pig. I wouldn't want her in my house. I damn sure don't want her in my White House calling herself President.

oh definitely, its not that its a woman, its that its Hilary. NOBODY wants a kid in charge during war time, and NOBODY wants Hilary in charge during war time.
Although honestly, I cant think of many women who could be trusted with the office.. women that would appeal to both sides. Cause if our side ran a woman, the Dems would have to support her no matter what - at least thats what NOW seems to be saying.
-
Give me a Margaret Thatcher and I'd vote for her in a nanosecond.
In these troubled times, a Golda Meyer (sp?) wouldn't be that bad either.
-
I would just about bet on a Clinton/Obama ticket.....or visa versa...
They win.
Between the two they have the minority votes stacked in their favor and the money is there.
-
If Hillary wins the nomination, she will pick the Democ. senator from FL. That is a must win state for the Democraps. Obama would do nothing for the ticket because she is going to get the black votes anyway.
-
McCain is not a Maverick, Rush is the Maverick, he said it himself today.
I pray the polls are wrong and Romney can pull this out. We'll obviously know more Tuesday night. Since I live in Calif. this will be the first time my vote might matter.
-
I wanted Nixon to win when Kennedy did and was disappointed .......
I was also very disappointed when Carter and Clinton won ........
..............but today I am scared for the well-being of this country.
Hell! I might as well write in "Mr. Snuggle Bunny", cause I believe that atleast he will do everything that he says he will and I don't believe that he will deviate from his plan.
The "others" I just don't have much faith in!
-
Here's 4 votes for Romney in Calif. The Bh family went all Romney. It will be more than cancelled out by other flamer family members but oh well, one for Obama and two for McCheater, that I know of.
Anecdotal: I was at a business meeting today and I noticed a woman had an "I voted" sticker on her blouse. I congratulated her on voting and she said, "Yeah, I crossed parties for the first time in my life." I didn't ask but I bet either she broke from the Republicans and went for B. Hussein Obama or the disbarred rapists political partner, the most cheated on woman in America. Can't see many libs breaking for McCrazy.
-
After giving it much thought ............................. and not seeing "Mr. Snuggle Bunny" on the ballot, I and the bride both cast our ballots for Mitt Romney.
Sorry Snuggle!
We did want Thompson, but he decided that he didn't want to play any longer!
-
I'm revising my prediction to Clinton versus Romney. Despite the fact that John McCain appears to have the Republican nomination locked up, I have this persistent feeling that he won't get it. Does anyone else here have the same feeling?
-
It's going to be McLiar vs. B. Hussein Obama, he's out raising the Shrew 2-1 as he picks up momentum and people get more exposure to the rapists political partner.
Look for the media to start framing the McCain candidacy around his age compared to the carnival atmosphere of Obama's campaign. Look for the Drive-By's to carry the "change" message and use it against McCain. The Media wants Obama and they want him bad, partly because Europe wants Obama.
Poor old John (http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/02/the_media_will_turn_on_mccain.html)

It is going to take all the strength I muster to vote for that POS McCain, but Gold help me I am going to do it.
He better pick a strong VP.

But I'll do it.
Damnit.

Obama seen meeting with John Edwards....hmmm...VP nod??
I also saw a blurb that said Condi Rice's name is being floated around for the GOP ticket. I don't know if that would ever happen but it would rock!!!!!!
Polls show most of Europe would be happy with Obama (Brits prefer Hillary) - I guess that tells you all you need to know!

Newt said in a speech recently, "Would you rather have someone in the oval office who you disagree with 20% of the time or a Democrat where you disagree with the 90% of the time?" I'll have to hold my nose and go with the RINO and pray he brings solid conservative fiscal values with him.
Since Nov.2006, I've answered every Republican fund raising request with a big fat zero $$, told them I won't begin donating again until we have something like this on both borders north and south.

It is pretty hard to disagree with that logic; I have a feeling that McCain will lose the election because the Democraps are more energized. Just look at the voting numbers for D & R. A 2 to 1 majority in their favor. Plus, McCain's campaign reform bill will come back to bite him in the ass when his opponet raises more funds.

Unless there's some unforeseen campaign changing event, scandal, a game changer - or Obama's wife keeps disrespecting America - I think we're headed for a complete Democrat Congress and White House. 14.6 million Democrats voted on Super Tuesday compared to 8.3 million Republicans. God save us all, even if they only get 4 years, the damage they could do will take decades to reverse if it even can be reversed. Personally, I think Obama is slightly less dangerous than the rapists wife. As consolation, don't forget, we survived 4 years of Carter and 8 years with the perjury committing, disbarred, serial molester rapist.

I was pondering this the other day. 4 years of Clinton MIGHT lead to another Republican Revolution, the likes we had of in 1994. However, could McCain getting the presidency stir up 30 years of Dimocrap rule after an incompetent tenure? One has to wonder.

The sad truth is that I do not see a Repub. that is a visonary like Newt; we sure as hell do not ever need duds like Hassart & Frist as majority leaders.

White Men Seen All Wrong
By David Paul Kuhn
Washington analysts are beginning to notice a curious fact of the Democratic race. In a primary contest between the first black or female nominee, white men are the critical swing vote. Yet despite white males still disproportionately representing us in politics, we still misunderstand them as voters.
There remains a chasm between our conception of the powerful executive and the reality of the everyman. Our culture continues to define the typical white man more for his vice than virtue. The perception of the "angry white male" has not left us. Many still remain apprehensive to discuss white men as a constituency. They are, after all, supposed to be the reason we have to focus on constituencies. Even many pundits who viscerally understand these men, like Chris Matthews, have recently misperceived what motivates this bloc's choice between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Fascinating piece on the true swing voter this cycle, the invisible White Man.

Dude you signed up at a place called Conservative Cave then you said a leftist will be President.
Not sure if you really expected a open arms welcome in that context but to even with a smilie do that to a lady speaks volumes as to your character.

Obama and McCain in the General. The next President will be........President Barack Obama
Because we can all use a little change.... and don't forget hope..... gives me little twinkle-twinkles thinking about it. :-)

To be able to give us so much hope at a time when there is so little change. You can count on at least one thing, when and if they get in you will have change, that will be all that is left from your pay check.

Yes, because he gives us Hope for the Future. And Hope is Hopeful and the Future is not the Past.
If we elect hussein as the president then we deserve the socialist government we get. Capital will flee the USA like rats from a sinking ship. He will increase the tax rolls -- oh, did you know the so-called tax rollbacks for the RICH saved a couple making $50,000 $8,000 a year. Well, you 50K-ers better get ready for a tax hit to the tune of 8K -- or $780 a MONTH!
Yeah, you guys are SMART!

I can't take credit. Rush has been running an ad parody (but so close to the real think that it is scary) with pretty much the same theme.
That young muslim liberal scares the hell out of me.

if he manages to get elected, washington will eat his lunch, and the entrenched bureaucracy will pick his bones clean.

With a democrat Congress? Shit, it would be the beginning of Socialism in the USA - -worse than The Great Society. hussein is the biggest threat to the USA since the USSR.

oh, please. everyone thought the world was going to end when we lost congress, and their ineptitude seems to have kept their mischief to a bare minimum. with the BarackStar! joining nancy and stretch in washington, it will look like a three stooges marathon every day of the week.

Get a grip! If I was moderator on a liberal board, I would NEVER welcome a conservative with "Don't expect us to be friendly to you here, just a warning. :whatever: How rude can you be?
All I was doing is answering the question posted in the OP and joking around like everyone else. Are liberals here held to a different standard than a conservative? If that opening post to me is any indication of what this place is all about, then maybe liberals aren't welcome. Just say the word and I'll leave.

Here's a prediction. The rapist's wife is not going away without a fight. The Clinton Crime Family doesn't care if the ruin the Democrat party in the process, they will not go away quietly. I see the media starting to turn a bit more skeptical of Barack Almighty.

I didn't notice the nocturnally foul one started this thread.
Anyway, my prediction, and check back with me on the morning of November 5;
Sometime between the beginning of September and the middle of October, the big city machines will abandon the top of the Democrat ticket, and concentrate on saving Democrat candidates, scrambling around hastily creating "votes" out of thin air, on the lower end of the ticket, as they did in 1972 and 1984.
I'm not God, but it seems to me this is eminently reasonable to expect.

The states I worry about are the large population of voters 25-35, and the states with large union populations.
So that IMO takes it down to the normal Democratic states - The Republicans better turn out very large numbers in the middle of the country to offset, New York, Illinios, Michigan, Ohio, California, Oregon and Massachusetts. These states as we all know generally go Dem. The good thing in Mich., Illinois and Ohio is the union membership is the lowest it has been since the 30's, about 9% lower so they don't control as many votes, but watch out for the 'Chicago Vote Machine'. Any of the heartland states with large populations mentioned above could be problems. The three states that worry me is not because of the number of EV's, but the coming very high popular vote, and those are Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana, that were considered mostly Rep. states in the past, or in the Louisiana case the hurricane backlash. The 25-35 age group turn out is going to be very high there.

liberal kids don't vote because they disenchant once the candidate heads back toward center.
turnout does not have to be high to offset another state. EV's are only by state. unless something is new this year.

My other half is convinced that come the convention, the Dems just might give it to Hillary. He doesn't think Obama will ever make it to inauguration.
I think if Obama survives and wins the election, he may never make it to January or if he does he will not live a year. It's hard to know, who will go after him first. One guy has already been arrested in FL for threats on Obama's life. Which makes no sense that he would tell people, unless he is a decoy for someone else.
If something happens to prevent Obama from the election in November, or if something happens to him if he is elected.....I truly belief, we will see riots in the large cities all across the country.....and we will ...each and every person in this country....be in a world of deep shit....that may take decades to recover from. Especially if we are attacked from the outside when we are most vulnerable.

Could Obama still lose the nomination? (http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/08/could_obama_lose_the_nominatio_1.html)
-
Jim - understand about the state by state EV's. Point was that he'll need to carry very well in the middle of the country and the southeast to offset the larger EV states. During the primary in my precinct there was the largest turnout off voters for any election since I've lived here and going along with the representation of poll workers outside, they were primarily for OB, and this area has been Republican for years, but I swear they were bringing people in from Birmingham.
-
jim has an insurmountable point.
-
BO's young-voter numbers have already dropped significantly, from 75% down to 35-40% in the last six months. I don't think the stoner vote is going to put him over the top this year.

cool. yes, every state matters and the GOP will have to take all the usual ones. and I have no doubt he will.
As has been pointed out already, that groundswell of youthful support is already eroded very significantly and I believe the reason is that, as has happened every election since I helped get Vote-18 passed, the candidates have had to shift their positions to the center to try and capture the mushy middle. this is a stake in the heart to the ideologues and their response is to say screw it and stay home. the kids are nothing if not ideologues. Hell I used to be one (the right side not the left) and it took me a long time to realize that it was just impossible to elect a president as conservative as I would like. I keep trying but I'm realistic.
The kids are wandering off...
The independents are wandering off (they HATE shifting positions that are obviously poll driven)...
The wimminis are still pissed off and they are still wanting to feel security in terms of national defense and economic ways. The energy thing is a freaking gold mine if McC can avoid ****ing it up (pardon my french).
We cannot take ANYTHING for granted but I really believe its McC's to lose at this juncture.

A follow up to a previous post I made. It was just on the "local" Birmingham news. "There has been a significant voter registration in the 19-25 year old black voter, this year. With 44 million new voters in that age group."
It didn't give the breakdown, but this was covered by mainstream news and the coverage centered on and primarily show one ethnic side of society. While they didn't cross any lines, the message was clear.

What's clear to me is that Lord Barack Almighty is an America hating racist. The Russian's are stupid, they should have waited to see if the Neo-Messiah makes it to the hot seat.
