Whenever we storm the gates and overthrow the government, who should we install as the 46th Pres?
trump is getting exponentially worse daily and it's apparent that the repukes are unwilling to do anything about it. Even if they did, pres pence wouldnt get the job done.
So who do we install when we storm the gates?
That is going to be what it takes.
moderate bonfire. some actually make sense.

1. Good Q.
I'm still up for Hillary or Bernie either one. Ah, shucks. Let's have both. Then there's Kirsten Gillibrand. Umm, except for a nominee vote, and she's done so much else that's wonderful, Elizabeth Warren.
Just some thoughts ...

Plus that might be a little smoother a transition.

And yes, if need be you can use my body as a human shield as the mobs force their way through.
I'm sick and I'd love to be remembered in folk song as the guy who caught the first barrage, allowing others to save our country.

11. It's gonna be Pence's decision...
and it'll be interesting to see who he chooses because they will become president before 2020. Pence will be drug down by the Russian hacking scandal. You know the campaign communicated with the Russians, and he was part of the campaign.
I expect Pence will pick someone he served with in congress.

13. I advocate a senior statesman caretaker President who has no ambition to run for the office
Someone with many, many years of executive office experience. To wit: Governor Jerry Brown.
Hell, with the Trump storm passing, his work will be done in California, and he could comfortably turn over his smooth running machine to his competent Lt Governor at the drop of a hat.

17. Maybe
...I think that our national situation is *so* fluid, that we're in such unknown waters, that it's hard to imagine what the end game will be. To take one example--the whole Russian business. If this is what it seems to be, it could take the whole GOP down with it. Or Trump might just become so despotic that there could be a sort of American version of 1688, with Dems and (some!) Repubs agreeing on some compromise candidate to fill the role until 2020--possibly as a desperate tactic to avoid civil war. I don't think these extreme scenarios are impossible. My God--look where we are *now*, after only a week. It would have seemed impossible two years ago.

That's the best summary of "why" I've seen accidentally admitted to. All they want is acceptance from each other. These people are wacked

Ah, I remember we used to see a thread like this once a week or so during the Bush Administration, with the Keyboard Commandos imagining themselves leading a glorious revolution in which the cops and National Guard would just be swept aside like fallen autumn leaves by the fearless protesters. Always gives me a smile, and reveals the Left's philosophy: Support Democracy when our candidate wins, descend into lawlessness and savagery when the other guy wins.

A song about the pitiful Keyboard Commando who imagines himself the heroic first martyr in the glorious imaginary revolution. I think Weird Al Yankovic could come up with something pretty funny with that plot.

I can't believe any of these "progressives" missed Faith Spotted Eagle (http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/meet-faith-spotted-eagle-the-native-elder-voted-for-president-by-a-washington-state-elector/). It seems DU is missing some decent trolls nowadays.
