And so it BEGINS. The Trumpification of the Republican Party. Grabbing *****.
Conn. Republican arrested for grabbing woman’s genitals — his lawyer says it was ‘a playful gesture’
Von Keyserling has served on the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting board since 1985.
The incident, which took place in December 2016, began when the 57-year-old woman encountered von Keyserling in the hallway. The two had a brief political argument, in which von Keyserling remarked, “I love this new world, I no longer have to be politically correct.”
When the woman tried to walk away, von Keyserling allegedly reached from behind to place his hand between her legs and pinched her in the groin. He said “it would be your word against mine and nobody will believe you,” the woman claimed.
His lawyer told Greenwich Time the charges were the result of a “jocular” moment with a woman.
“In almost 30 years of practicing law in this town, I would say Mr. von Keyserling is the one person I would never suspect of having any inappropriate sexual predilections,” the lawyer, Phil Russell, said. “There was a playful gesture, in front of witnesses. It was too trivial to be considered anything of significance. To call it a sexual assault is not based in reality.”

The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

Wasn't this in the DIppy's original post?
When the woman tried to walk away, von Keyserling allegedly reached from behind to place his hand between her legs and pinched her in the groin. He said “it would be your word against mine and nobody will believe you,” the woman claimed.
And, the DIppy didn't mention a felony.
No matter what the blogs said, it looks like the DIppy got that one right.

From New Canaan News: (http://www.newcanaannewsonline.com/policereports/article/Von-Keyserling-RTM-member-arrested-on-criminal-10852811.php)
According to the arrest warrant on file at Superior Court, the incident began when von Keyserling had a brief political discussion with a 57-year-old female employee at the Witherell. The discussion turned acrimonious, according to the court papers, and the woman went to her office.
The encounter continued in the office, and when the woman rose to leave, she was pinched on her rear end by von Keyserling, according to the affidavit.
...
Police reviewed videotape of the office. According to the affidavit, it was unclear where von Keyserling’s hand was when the woman walked past him.
The sequence of events documented on the video was consistent with the woman’s account, according to court papers, and she was seen pointing a finger at von Keyserling in a disapproving, agitated manner on the video.
Earlier in the article:
Russell said the incident in question, at the Nathaniel Witherell Home, could not be described as sexual or aggressive in nature. He said the charge stemmed from a “jocular” moment with a woman at a gathering at the town-owned senior facility.
“In almost 30 years of practicing law in this town, I would say Mr. von Keyserling is the one person I would never suspect of having any inappropriate sexual predilections,” Russell said, noting his client is in his 70s.
Two things:
RawStory, unsurprisingly, made @#$% up (or repeated @#$% someone else pulled out of their @#$);
The statement of von Keyserling's lawyer is well short of saying, "Von Keyserling didn't touch her."
I don't know CN's laws, but it sounds like, "fourth-degree sexual assault," is an over-charge with regard to what may have happened. If the charge isn't dismissed or lowered to something more proportional to what may have happened, a not guilty verdict might be the outcome.
DU-folk, being what they are, will knee-jerkingly refuse to recognize that RawStory lied.
ETA: From the quote from RawStory:
When the woman tried to walk away ... allegedly reached from behind to place his hand between her legs and pinched her in the groin ...
Just RawStory's description of what it claims happened is improbable, verging on impossible. The woman is walking away and he somehow managed to reach around from behind, get his hand in her genitals area and pinch her? Human arms aren't that long or that fast. What the accuser claimed, that he pinched her rear end, is at least physically possible.

I don't know CN's laws, but it sounds like, "fourth-degree sexual assault," is an over-charge with regard to what may have happened. If the charge isn't dismissed or lowered to something more proportional to what may have happened, a not guilty verdict might be the outcome.
Per Connecticut state law:
Sec. 53a-73a. Sexual assault in the fourth degree: Class A misdemeanor or class D felony. (a) A person is guilty of sexual assault in the fourth degree when: (1) Such person intentionally subjects another person to sexual contact who is (A) under fifteen years of age, or (B) mentally defective or mentally incapacitated to the extent that such other person is unable to consent to such sexual contact, or (C) physically helpless, or (D) less than eighteen years old and the actor is such other person's guardian or otherwise responsible for the general supervision of such other person's welfare, or (E) in custody of law or detained in a hospital or other institution and the actor has supervisory or disciplinary authority over such other person; or (2) such person subjects another person to sexual contact without such other person's consent; or (3) such person engages in sexual contact with an animal or dead body; or (4) such person is a psychotherapist and subjects another person to sexual contact who is (A) a patient of the actor and the sexual contact occurs during the psychotherapy session, or (B) a patient or former patient of the actor and such patient or former patient is emotionally dependent upon the actor, or (C) a patient or former patient of the actor and the sexual contact occurs by means of therapeutic deception; or (5) such person subjects another person to sexual contact and accomplishes the sexual contact by means of false representation that the sexual contact is for a bona fide medical purpose by a health care professional; or (6) such person is a school employee and subjects another person to sexual contact who is a student enrolled in a school in which the actor works or a school under the jurisdiction of the local or regional board of education which employs the actor; or (7) such person is a coach in an athletic activity or a person who provides intensive, ongoing instruction and subjects another person to sexual contact who is a recipient of coaching or instruction from the actor and (A) is a secondary school student and receives such coaching or instruction in a secondary school setting, or (B) is under eighteen years of age; or (8) such person subjects another person to sexual contact and (A) the actor is twenty years of age or older and stands in a position of power, authority or supervision over such other person by virtue of the actor's professional, legal, occupational or volunteer status and such other person's participation in a program or activity, and (B) such other person is under eighteen years of age.
.
"Sexual contact" is defined as, "The intentional touching, either directly or through the clothing, of the genitalia, anus, groin, breast, inner thigh, or buttocks of any person". (https://definitions.uslegal.com/s/sexual-contact/)
Whether he pinched her vulva or buttocks, it meets the definition.

Two words DUmplings.

I have a problem with that definition. Bathing your baby, changing its diaper, and medical exams would fall under that. Many medical procedures would be considered outright rape.
But at any rate, let it play out in court. He'll face the consequences. If he's from Greenwich, CT, he's probably an asshole anyway, regardless of party affiliation.
