But one has to remember, primitives lie. All the time, primitives lie.

How old are you?
It's been asked before; it'll be asked again.
I'm 45.
It's a big bonfire, so only the primitives of prominence:

My husband's 69...
How come she looks old enough to have voted for Alfred E. Smith in 1928?
What's up with that?

The Heidi primitive's lying, but never mind.
Ooops, not that many primitives of prominence; they're mostly unterprimitiven, the faceless lynch mob.

I wonder if perhaps William Gaines, founder of Mad magazine, did in fact base the name of Alfred E. Neuman on Alfred E. Smith, the failed Democrat candidate for the presidency in 1928.
Gaines was of that age where he would have had good memory of the candidate; not old enough to vote in 1928, but old enough to remember much about him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Smith I never knew there were so many that ran as communists and socialists back then! :o

Oh yeah.
All the time.
My favorite communist U.S. Representative of the time was Vincent Marcantonio of New York.
This was why it was so hilarious, watching the Vermontese primitives celebrating the election of Jr. from Vermont (Bernard Sanders) to the Senate in 2006. The Vermontese primitives made a big deal about the decrepit old guy, a child of capitalistic affluence, being the "first" "socialist" congressman and senator.
As has been said, history begins for primitives when they wake up in the morning.

I always loved Mad magazine. Had a subscription for a very long time and now my oldest son has one as well!

I bought one for my son (9) the other day. I read it before him because I used to LOVE Mad! I was very surprised at how many obviously sexual things were in there. Was it always like that or is that a new thing? Anyway, I think I will wait until he is a little older before giving him one.

Actually they've always pushed the envelope a bit but I think they really stepped it up after The Monica Lewinsky debacle! :-) Plus alot of their old writers from back in the day have long since retired or died! So you have a younger generation writing there now.

Dude, not even high school boys are that hard up.
Never underestimate the power of the mighty Beer Goggles on a young man's eyesight.

No one has been able to get beer goggles that thick; they usually pass out first, and there are occasions where they keel over from alcahol poisoning.
Of course that still beats the alternative of successfully creating sufficient beer goggles, and then having to gnaw through your own shoulder in order to get away the next morning.
