Typical shit: Howard Zinn, David Brock, Sinclair Lewis.

Rather predictable, for the most part. While I understand the point of the rec of Atlas Shrugged - it ventures pretty far into just-so caricature - I doubt any DU-member would have the patience to wade through its secular-sermonizing. Nor do I think they'd have the self-reflection to see that the just-so caricaturing calls out very real aspects of Lib-Prog ideology.

If you want to know where more than a few Libs & Progs get what they "know" about Evangelical and "Fundie" Christians, The Handmaid's Tale is a "good" starting place. They think it's reality thinly disguised as fiction.

That would be the point where they went back to the Play Dough®.

29. Some won't like this, but Atlas Shrugged

You really need to see the world from their warped viewpoint to understand how the Trump got to where he is. It would probably be the hardest thing you have ever read, but is required to know thine enemy. It would help you to understand Ryan and many other con leaders.

I've read Atlas Shrugged twice. Your take from the book and mine are 180 degrees apart. Where you refer to "their warped viewpoint", I see it as an over intrusive government who takes, without limits, the riches from those who earned them, only to have those riches redistributed to those who wouldn't work.

You don't even have to read the book, but here is a direct quote from the book. All you have to do is click, and read/listen.  Welcome to the 20th Century Motor Car Company, and how it all fell apart.

Those 3 clips perfectly illustrate the world YOU want.
