We have constitutional options to prevent a descent into fascism or socialism, IF the nation chooses to remain a United States of America.
If not, I'm glad to be living in California which will fight and resist federal intrusion.
The DOI is not the Constitution, dipshit.
There is no mechanism expressly stated within the Constitution for leaving the union.
If we take Madison's word for it (he wrote the Constitution) he wrote to Daniel Webster that the mechanism entailed the union voting to allow exit the same as the union voting to admit a new state.
But that was private correspondence, not codified in the Constitution.

every person who signed that document was saying he was ready to put his life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness on the line for any of the other signers. are we there yet?

1789-1861 was a confederation, not a federation. The United States did not become a true federation until the surrender of the CSA at Appomattox, April 9, 1865.

They know they cannot have what they want in a free and open civil society because free people reject their agenda time and again.
They need the compulsion of the state to force their agenda.
They do not fear a dictatorship, they fear not being the dictators.
