3. If I have folks overnight for Christmas... I'll just put some porridge in the slow cooker.
A ton of steel cut oats, some flax seeds, small dice some apples, raisins, some cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice. A bunch of water, and splash of white wine, then put that sucker on low over night. As folks wake up, they can just ladle a bowl... I leave out some syrup, granola, etc...

1. ...Went grocery shopping yesterday - picked up a pound of scungilli (marinated northern conch) and some live quahogs for steaming. Instead of tea last night, I had a cup of hot quahog juice. Ahhhh, nice to be "home".

2. Back from an extended stay in North Carolina. On the way home,
I picked up huge bunches of Russian kale and turnip greens. Tonight we're having field peas,
greens, red potatoes, and cornbread.

3. The chicken soup was delicious
With one exception, I followed the recipe precisely. At the very end, I substituted spiralized zucchini for the egg noodles. Zoodles cook instantly. I recommend a splash of sherry vinegar with the chopped herbs at the table.

They try so hard to be 'superior' - Yes, let's eat overpriced, nonsensical foods so we can claim to be 'better people' !:II:
No - many of you are passively showing your fellow DUmmies what badasses you are by hanging out in the ethnic food isles of Robber Joe's and Whole Paycheck.:rotf: :hi5:
I'll confess. The peanut butter was actually part of the DUmmie's dessert, but when I read it fast it looked like it was part of the casserole. :lmao: So I did some creative editing just like our esteemed MSM would do. :lmao:
Does that count as Fake News?

"Zoodles." Makes me want to throat punch this DUmmie.

I miss the food threads, hasn't been that many brought over lately.
It's because the primitives don't produce them like they used to.
Hell, there was a time that if one checked the cooking and baking forum, and then went back about an hour later, there was a whole different front page, full of new threads.
Now there's maybe ten threads a week, if that many.
I dunno why the primitives don't like to cook and bake any more.
The DUmmie went on to say that if they overindulged they wouldn't have to worry about feeding people/horses.
That ain't pizza.
:lmao:
Ummm.....how about a nice glass of Scotch? Or a lovely glass of wine?
Of course you are Japple! That's all you eat, night after night.
That reminded me of "Little Girl who Lived down the Lane." "It's the almonds."
I just thought this was funny as bad writing:
Good fishin at the NYT!
Then somebody talked about chicken soup:
"Zoodles." Makes me want to throat punch this DUmmie.

Puke Pie. :puke:
Uffda
:aliens:Don't forget mulch and compost, too!
Except for the trout, it all sounds like either goat fodder or bait.
Broccoli and shrimp do not belong on pizza!
Part of the problem in the What's for Dinner threads is Japple. She has the same thing night after night. Field greens, beans, and corn bread. Aren't her family ready to kill her? I wish pscot would post one of his very pretentious recipes. They're a hoot.
Based on their pre-election confidence, Ithe should be 4 and 20 blackbirds baked into a pie.
For all I care about the DUmmies, they can eat shit and die. From the sounds of it, the ones in the baking forum eat shit all the time, not enough of them die though

To really top it off.... peanut butter and baked beans. (When you fart.... it sticks to the roof of your ass.) :rimshot:
And what the hell is smoked salt? Salt is a mineral. A little piece of stone. God, she drives me nuts.

6. Maybe if they focused on healthier, or, gasp, more vegetarian, meals that would help.
Everywhere we eat out, which is about 4 times a week, my husband and I have to tweek orders to not use sugar laden sauces, and cut the bacon, chicken stock etc. We are regulars at several good restaurants in town, so they know how to accommodate us here, but when we go to other areas it is a struggle.
