Most Of Florida Will Be Underwater By 2100 - You Do Understand Right?
What is coming.....

Buuuut someone is dancing with some stars!

Maybe if our children aren't killed by wildfires, floods, or violent weather by then they will still be alive to cuss us.....

a few posts later...

8. So you have nothing to back up your point about "most of Florida".

That is my point. We don't need to sound crazy. We have science on our side.

It's too late for that, DUmpshit.

28. Put three ice cubes in a glass then fill it within 1/4 inch of the top.

Let the ice melt and see what happens.

Come back after you have tried this.

Now think about all the ice melting at the polls.

Consider Florida the rim of the glass.

Science!!!

35. I guess the only thing you will believe is

The water lapping at Disney World, the submerged outer banks or the statue of liberty wading in the Hudson.

But given your denial, what danger is there in being safe and treating our planet a little better?

Clean air and fewer extinctions and a little less pollution.

34. You do know that only works with floating ice?

Ice that rests on land (Think Antartica, Greenland) will raise sea levels. To put it in your glass analog, suspend three ice cubes with strings over your full glass.

Let the ice melt and see what happens.

Come back after you have tried this

39. Burning anything causes global warming. Weed, the TN state parks, incense, a well done steak....

And do not forget heating and cooling your house, your computer, your car.

My mole?  You decide.

19. Scientists have been working on this for decades. Yet climate deniers get elected as POTUS

Recall how Carter put solar panels on the White House, but that ****nut Reagan had them removed? We HAD the answers years ago; all we lacked (and still lack) is any motivation to do something. And if we wait to get motivated until the waves are literally lapping at your feet, or your crops are dying in the fields, you've already lost the war. It's impossible to stop something like a glacier the size of New York from sliding off of Antarctica or Greenland once it's in motion.

Scientists can't do anything to fix the problem if politicians don't believe them, much less work with them.

17. I used to watch those beachfront house hunting shows. I can't take

it anymore. People think they are investing 350,000 when in fact it will be underwater and valueless in a generation.

I will buy any beachfront land in Florida you have for sale for $1, today, primitives.  After all, $1 is worth more than something of NO value, right?

In 80 years it will be on the ocean and worth a lot of money.

OK Dummies.

Take 3 ice cubes and shove them up your ass.  Let the ice melt and see what happens.

The cult of global warming has become a circle jerk driven by anti-American politicians, and supported by those "scientists" that get funding from the government.

Their scientific method is to tailor the study to reaffirm the results they want.  They have even been willing to alter the historical temperatures to show an increase in modern temps.

Infused with complete Habanero extract.
That would be the s**ts.
That's how Johnny Cash came up with the "Burning Ring Of Fire" song.        :-)

I do understand what they're trying to say, which is a lot more sound than the whole rabbit cage and cinder block experiment.  As I'm sure anyone who understands basic science knows (Admittedly that excludes a high percentage of DUmmies), you could melt all the floating ice in the world and it wouldn't change the ocean level, it is only the Antarctic continental ice shield, and Greenland's, that represent very large amounts of ice that rest on land and do not already displace an equal weight of oceanic water.

Global climate alarmists make a lot of noise about thinning of these two ice shields and a hidden pooling of meltwater under them in places that is supposedly a catastrophe in the making, however there is virtually no historical data upon which to base a trend line on either one.  Prior to using satellites for detailed radar surveys  of surface heights (And even more recently, trying to directly measure the ice thickness with more advanced systems), which has only been happening for around three decades, so the value of the alleged 'Settled science' is really pretty sketchy.

I think everyone will agree, the earth is warming.
But then it's cooling again. Then its warming. Then its cooling. Thats the way this blue marble thingy works, we are just here for the ride.
I would agree that we technically COULD change the weather, but that would require lighting a lot of nuclear weapons at once... and eventually, even that would correct itself long after we all starved. Our existence here is nothing more than a twinkle in the eyes of the universe as a whole.
We have a far greater chance of suffering catastrophe at the hands of volcanic activity or solar flares than anything else... most especially "man made" global warming or climate change.
Maybe the libs can come up with a  tax-us plan to stop that sh$% from going on.
I don't wanna sound all preachy here, but when you don't look to God for your faith, you have to make up stupid crap like global warming and trannys in bathrooms to quantify your existence.

It's an exercise in futility and sometimes, it takes a while to get my eyes unstuck from staring at the ceiling.

Lived there 21 years. First I'd ever heard of it not being on the ocean. Where is St. Simons?

Yes, now is a perfect time to buy some. In fact, by a remarkable coincidence, I have some swampland ready to sell.

:mental: :thatsright: Does lNp know enough science to realize that the level of the water in that glass would not rise even a micron? In fact it would be lower, due to evaporation, albeit probably imperceptibly.

If lNp really believes FL will be flooded, maybe he should warn Disney Corporation they should stop developing more park feature. They're showing with their billions of $$ how convinced they really are - regardless of their PR statements - of Global Worming.

Your comments bring up something that I've never really thought about. As water is one of the things that expands when it freezes wouldn't the water level drop as the ice melts and the displacement in the glass decreases? I suppose I could try it myself but I don't really care enough.

While water does expand when it freezes, its mass remains the same. Consequently it floats, displacing the same amount of water it would if it were liquid (i.e. some of the ice is above the water line).

Okay thanks. I may have knew that before I become 35 years removed from a science class.

It's been 40 years for me, too, but my History interests include WW2 Pacific Theater submarine warfare.

I used to play Silent Service on a Laser 128, but I wouldn't consider that exactly the same. :)  Of course it does probably grant me as much historical knowledge as a DU trained historian.
