Title: Sunday, colder then the ice age, day thread
Post by: jtyangel on January 20, 2008, 10:28:41 AM
So, I think we've established it is not only cold, but it is friggin' cold. We woke up to about 0 degrees with 20 below windchills here. So, we will be spending our day indoors. We did take the kids swimming last night. I got some great action shots:

TOTD: You have 20 bucks left in your pocket. How do you spend it assuming your basic needs are already taken care of.

Hey, nobody said it had to be spent on anything altruistic. Just how you'd blow the last 20 burning a hole in the pocket. I haven't decided yet...I'm indecisive like that.

Cold day here...we are heading to the mall, etc to kill the afternoon.

TOTD:  I'd probably order pizza, so I wouldn't have to cook!

Thanks, they did and it broke up a long weekend that has to spent inside due to the temperatures.

Either that or stuff to make buffalo wings.  Game starts at 3.

Of course, that's what I WOULD HAVE BEEN DOING, had I not gotten a call from my boss this morning at 5:30.

Glad they had so much fun in the pool :cheersmate:

A twenty, hmm... rent some movies?

I am too...

and you know what, I think that's what I'd do with it too. Start a fire in the fireplace, get a warm drink, and pop in a movie or two or three.  :cheersmate:

something fun...   maybe cupcakes?

of which, we made cheery flavored cupcakes last night.. me and the girls. and we put chocolate frosting on them with maraschino cherries on top.

they are adorable and they taste pretty good..

I can tell by looking it's cold outside, no need for me to go out there.

Later I do have to go to the grocery store.  I went yesterday and I forgot to buy mozzarella for the baked ziti I'm making later.

Yesterday my brother that I haven't seen in like 9 months (and probably 3 years before that) came over with his daughter (who I haven't seen since she was 2, and she's 9 now).  That was nice.

TOTD:  Hum, $20.  If all needs are taken care of....I'd buy a book at Barnes & Noble probably.  Or go drinking with friends.

I went to the gun show this morning.

I signed a petition to get Sheriff Joe back on the ballot this year. I know Sonnabend probably got the chills in Australia as I did that.

Now all I'm doing is cleaning my apartment and watching football.

I have a leftover Pillsbury holiday cake mix that is baking in the oven as I type.

TOTD: I would probably rent movies or order a Sardella's pizza.

Did you start and finish a whole quilt in one day?

No, I just "quilted" it.  First someone makes the quilt top (this one was someone else's quilt top), then you put all the layers together in a "quilt sandwich".  A quilt sandwich is the three layers of a quilt: the quilt top, the inner quilt batting and the backing.  On my machine you load the backing by pinning it to the fabric leaders, then you put the batting on and then the quilt top.  The quilting part is when I use my longarm to stitch the layers together.

Here is a picture of my longarm quilting machine:

If you already knew the above, disregard what I just said.   :p

I love that room, BEG. When I was scrapbooking regularly, I had my room organized in much the same way with all my tools in arm's reach. :cheersmate:

Look at this filthy car!  I wish I had better pictures, but this car only shows up at my neighborhood library every once in a while.  No identifiable stickers, so I have no clue what kind of person would own such a nasty car let alone drive one.

Just imagine the smell.   :o

On a related thread hijack,  have you seen that movie "Perfume" ?

No, I looked it up though just now. Is it worth a look? I see though from its story line why that post made you think of it.
