More about Edwards over on Drudge this morning.
Says its breaking. Enquier has a picture of him with love child.
This whole thing makes me sick. It doesn't matter if its true on not. Edwards is done. I really believe that.
When did we become such puritans? Is this the Clinton legacy?
Edwards has so much to offer so many people. And I don't think he will make it past this one. Just my opinion but it is kind of what I feel in my gut.

I was an Edwards supporter right up to the end. I just hate to see him go out this way.

Anyone that cheats on a spouse is about as low as you go in my book. A man that exploits his wife's illness for political gain and THEN cheats on her is below contempt.

My point is the DUmmies and their ilk justify exposing "right wing hypocrites" because these "hypocrites" have set themselves up to a standard - and then violated that standard.
The exact same situation applies to John and Elizabeth Edwards. Edwards presents his marriage to Elizabeth as being the center of his life and the reason he exists. Edwards has set himself to as a standard - and then violated that standard.
If DUmmies and their ilk were not the biggest hypocrites and liars in the world, they would be raking Edwards over hot coals for his situation. Since they are not, and since they have resorted back to "it's personal and nobody's business", then they have nowhere to turn the next time they want to expose the hypocrisy of some conservative who didn't live up to his perceived standard.

Cheating on a spouse is one of those marital crises that comes along, not necessarily unrecoverable if it happens in a brief timeframe and both can put it behind them...some couples can do it, some can't. However, betrayal of a dying spouse just makes you a dyed-in-the-wool worthless f*cking son-of-a-bitch.

Edwards has so much to offer so many people. And I don't think he will make it past this one. Just my opinion but it is kind of what I feel in my gut.
It has absolutely nothing to do with being a puritan. Clinton is no longer president...I don't care who he ****s, blows, or smokes cigars with. What Edwards has done is disgusting. His wife is DYING. He has small children. He can't keep it in his pants but he wants to dictate morals to us? Whatever else one thinks of her, Elizabeth appears to be a loving mother. She went on the campaign trail (not exactly an easy thing even assuming perfect health) even though she was ill...TO HELP HER SELF ABSORBED HUSBAND win the dem nomination. The man is a pig and the best thing that could happen would be for Elizabeth to make a full recovery and take this rat bastard for everything he has.
