Angela Merkel calls for widespread ban on full veil Islamic coverings
Source: Washington Post
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who last year opened the door to nearly 1 million mostly Muslim migrants, staked out a tough new stance on conservative Islam on Tuesday by making her first direct call for a widespread ban on “full veil†religious coverings.
Her backing could add Germany to the growing list of European nations imposing restrictions on Islamic coverings as debates sharpen across the continent over religious tolerance, perceived threats to European identity and possible security threats from Islamists.
It could also signal a pragmatic shift to the right for Merkel, who is seeking a fourth term as Germany’s leader. In the wake of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union and the U.S. election of Donald Trump, the tolerant Merkel became seen as among the last guardians of liberal democracy in the West.

If it can happen to somewhere like Germany it can happen in the US. We have to be vigilant about Trumps attempts to overturn freedom of religion and expression here.
Do you mean like what Jughead McPutt has done, forcing Christian bakers to choose between their faith and their livelihood? Or forcing nuns to offer birth control (including abortion-inducing drugs) to their employees? Or unilaterally redifining "religious freedom" to mean what happens within the walls of a church, and only on Sunday a.m?

9. They (full veil) were fairly common at the community college where I worked.
I don't know how the instructors dealt with them.
All you could see were their eyes. They even wore long black gloves.
How do you know who is who in class? Could send someone in to take their exams in their place?
I worked in the library and it was unnerving for a group of them to approach me with a question - all these eyes on you but no faces. It was creepy.

15. Eyes can indeed, be creepy to many men.
Eyes can indeed, be creepy to many men. How oppressive the environment must have been for you-- unable to see faces of people.
It is creepy. Philoslayer did not weigh in yet. He thinks these get-ups are beautiful.

What killer-lover calls a "Trump effect" is in fact the fall-out of the organized sexual assaults by "refugees" and "immigrants" on German and other European women celebrating New Year 2016. And by "refugees" in camps against German women who thought they were aiding real refugees. And murderous terror attacks by "refugees" and "immigrants" throughout EuroLand. And sexual assaults by "refugees" in public swimming pools. And by incidents such as this one (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3998478/Teenage-Afghan-immigrant-arrested-Germany-murder-medical-student.html).
IMO, Merkel's carelessness and prideful denial of her policy's disastrous consequences deserve involuntary ballot-box retirement. This move is intended to stave that off, and I hope she is not given a chance to show that her proposal is sincere or attempted deception.

It'll probably never be enacted due to cries of 'Religious freedom,' though religious freedom in Germany means something entirely different in Germany, which does not have the same Draconian separation interpretation that we do here, or the same contortions about Equal Protection that we do, so it is not absolutely impossible.

Not me. I'm sexually aroused. :bird:
I hope you feel constant mental anguish that drives you even more :mental: than you already are.
You're faulty. You're broken. You're imperfect.
