Title: A Michigan recountmas thread that seems to be ignored.
Post by: Carl on December 06, 2016, 04:54:38 AM
It is strange because most of their "we are still going to win" threads are feeding frenzies.

4. Things such as THIS is WHY,,,

The GOP loves state rights SO much.
Nothing is standardized even within the state itself!
Mass confusion is what they love all the while complaining about stolen votes!
They spread their lies.
Their followers recite idiotic mantras which mean nothing.

Yeah...whatever that means!

5. Here's one from the Detroit News

Half of Detroit votes may be ineligible for recount

Quote
http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2016/12/05/recount-unrecountable/95007392/

One-third of precincts in Wayne County could be disqualified from an unprecedented statewide recount of presidential election results because of problems with ballots.

Michigan’s largest county voted overwhelmingly for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, but officials couldn’t reconcile vote totals for 610 of 1,680 precincts during a countywide canvass of vote results late last month.

Most of those are in heavily Democratic Detroit, where the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662.

According to state law, precincts whose poll books don’t match with ballots can’t be recounted. If that happens, original election results stand.

6. This isn't good in any way

The article implies that the discrepancies are due to ballots being put through the machines multiple times.

If these precincts are not recounted Hillary can't make up votes here. Yet if they are I would expect her vote count to drop more than Trump's because any multiples will be counted only once.

The hell you say?
I better look at the article.

He blamed the discrepancies on the city’s decade-old voting machines, saying 87 optical scanners broke on Election Day. Many jammed when voters fed ballots into scanners, which can result in erroneous vote counts if ballots are inserted multiple times. Poll workers are supposed to adjust counters to reflect a single vote but in many cases failed to do so, causing the discrepancies, Baxter said.

And what party has ruled over Detroit since the 1960s?

The same ones that let the drinking water turn to sewage.

Now they can drink their own tears.

Really DUmmies.  Which party was it more likely to be attempting multiple scans, in the city of Detroit?

Recall years ago that a lot of DUmmies assumed that "freep.com" meant Free Republic, not the Detroit Free Press.  A dog whistle of sorts.

The explanation for the problem, and its localization, has but one obvious explanation.  Democrat-dominated polling places tried to put Hillary ballots through multiple times to rack up the Dem vote.  Unfortunately for them, somebody forced them to go back and tally voters logged in versus the count of the scans, which probably would never have come to light if Hitlery had carried the State and Stein hadn't demanded a recount.

'Decade old machines.'  What a bunch of road apples.  A machine that is only used a few times a year should last a damned sight longer than ten years.

If the point of supposed concern is moving mechanical parts, probably, provided lubrication is adequate. As for optical components, those also would have to be cleaned periodically. So the excuse isn't implausible. In fact, incompetent political appointees failing to have proper maintenance performed is entirely plausible - consider the "hanging chad" mess in 2000 that, apparently, was caused by local election people failing to empty out years worth of punched out chads.

But true wear-out? probably not.

I am truly looking forward to the 19th when the electors vote for Trump and it becomes official.

All their conspiracy theories, all their plans to rip this election away from Trump, completely, totally, utterly and finally fail.

The angst will rival election night.

Then we can look forward to continued nightmares they invent in their own minds, which become real and reality to them, driving them into a fetal position in the corner, buried amongst their coloring books, fuzzy stuffed animals and mountains of safety pins.

I. CAN'T. WAIT.

I suspect they still prosper from their misdeeds; the discrepancy means they won't be recounted, but it doesn't mean the original wrong tally gets thrown out.  It sounds to me like the fraudulent count stands.

Perhaps a Michigan member could clarify this.

Regardless of future victories  or losses, we definitely should commemorate the 19th every year...
And, of course, the holiday already has a name!
Even on election years and even the ones me might lose, I'm gonna light a Prince Phillip and smile in remembrance of this joyous season.

You are correct--the original vote count stands.

What is puzzling to me is the fact that 80,000 Michigan ballots had no choice for president marked. Although these are the two least palatable candidates in the history of the country, that still seems like a lot. I haven't heard if there were that many in other states. It made me wonder if there were a couple of optical scanners that were malfunctioning and simply weren't recording the presidential vote.

17. Did you read the article? This might have actually given Hillary extra votes

The feed problems on the machines may have caused votes to be counted twice (or more), in a district that Hillary won by a huge margin. This would mean extra Hillary votes.

5. and we learned today, those machines have been broken since 2009.

all the elections since 2009 in Detroit are likely wrong.

8. If this happened in a Republican County, They would be screaming from the rooftops

but since its in a large Democratic County, just let them all stay broken for seven years. I see how the Republican controlled election board works. Now it all makes sense.

Do you think anything will come of their attempts to get electors to switch sides?

Where are all the Andy and Bev fans?  They finally have what appears to be some real actionable election fraud.  More votes than voters?  WTF.  DUAC jump into action.  Oh, wait, Hillary won 67% of the vote in Wayne County and Trump only got 30%?  Oops.  Nothing to see here.  Blame it on the GOP somehow.

I see no reason this electoral season
Should ever be forgot!
