Gore was scheduled to meet with his daughter Ivanka but met with the president-elect for most of the time.

I wouldn't read too much into it.
Remember, Trump's been burned badly by the media, ostensibly being narrow-minded and all that, and so he's trying to refute that by meeting with lots of people different-minded from him.
It's simply good public relations.
