People of the West. On Sunday Austria will elect a far-right pro-Russian president. France is next. Then Germany. Have a nice evening.

2. Hatred of the large wave of Muslim immigrants would be my guess.
Xenophobia has always lurked under the surface. The millions of African and Middle Eastern immigrants, many if not most Muslim, who dress, look and pray very differently from Europeans, has brought it out in full force. Fear and hatred are powerful emotions, easily played by the unscrupulous.
Only racists get upset with the wave or rape and crime muslims bring with them.

It's pretty hard to sugar coat the situation in some of these countries. I've read that incidents of rape and sexual assault have gone way up in countries like Sweden. France has suffered from a number of Islamic terror attacks, and Germany is being somewhat overwhelmed by the masses of refugees.
Naturally the residents of these countries feel threatened by the situation (Can you really blame them?), and they're responding by supporting right wing candidates who promise solutions. The threat of Muslim migrants may have even contributed to the numbers of women who supported Trump. I know one woman who voted for the Orange Messiah because she worried about Hillary inviting in a bunch of Syrian refugees
If the goal of the terrorists was to swing Europe to the right, I would say they have succeeded.
So close to the truth, and still missing the point.

8. Because the left is not what it once was.
I'm sure there are many former communist and socialist voters in France who will support the national front. I don't think this is because the worldview of those voters has fundamentally changed.
it went from Russians to muslims right quick. The Right in the EU countries is winning because the Left refuses to bow to the will of the people...and still DU cannot comprehend that. Free people do NOT want to be Ruled, something Lefty totalitarians cannot understand.

Sucks to be Marc right now. :yahoo:

Wait- I thought all the primitives said that Russia wasn't a threat? Remember when Romney said it, and it was soooo ridiculous back in 2012?
-
Liberals use to love the Russians until Putin showed that Obama was a weak leader and completely out of his depth when it came to foreign policy.

And when it comes to being a Man.

This DU-member almost had a head-on collision with the truth, but just missed it by stopping short of it. Yes, basically, to what I quoted. What (s)he stopped short of is that those EuroLiberal governments naively brought all those vile & violent immigrants into Scandinavia, Germany, etc., and when their violence and sexual assaults became notorious - the New Year's coordinated gang assaults on celebrating European women was less than a year ago!!! - the response of the EuroLiberal governments was cover-up and denial, rather than acknowledging the problem and working to solve it. Then there's the governments of the Netherlands, France, the UK, and Sweden (Norway, too?), which have been having this kind of @#$% for a decade and more, and have done nothing meaningful toward acknowledgement and solution (actually, calling out the problems and demanding solutions is a hate crime in those countries!).
