Donald Trump's Supreme Court Picks Could Ignite a War With the Left
Just weeks ago, buoyed by favorable polls and a sense of her campaign's momentum, progressive legal activists dared to embrace the possible: That President Hillary Clinton, presented with at least one and perhaps as many as four Supreme Court vacancies, would smash the three-decade-long conservative majority, pushing the court firmly to the left.
Then, President-elect Donald J. Trump happened. The surprise Republican tsunami that swept a celebrity billionaire to power and gave the GOP control of the Senate – along with the Supreme Court nomination process – swamped liberals' hopes of a high court recalibration in their favor.
"Trump's decisive, map-realigning victory, was in large part won by his focus on the Supreme Court issue," Ken Blackwell, a former Ohio state treasurer, conservative thought leader and Trump insider, told USA Today the day after the election. "The American people showed their rejection and disdain for adding more liberals to the court by voting to re-elect a Republican Senate," which is responsible for Supreme Court confirmations.
Progressives, however, insist they've got Republicans right where they want them: emboldened by Trump and out of step with most Americans.
Far from despondent or in disarray, they say, the left is organized, energized, raking in contributions and spoiling for a Supreme Court nomination fight. They're also itching to deliver payback for Republicans' unprecedented decision to stall the nomination of Judge Merrick Garland, the center-left candidate President Barack Obama chose to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

1. I remember when Harry Reid used the nuclear option
To end the filibuster on all picks below the Supreme Court. I remember Chuck Schumer being totally against this because in his words we may not be in power then it comes back to bite us for trashing the rules of the Senate, i think he is a prophet!

3. The GOP should get no say on SCOTUS.
**** Mitch McConnell - he has been aiming his middle finger at Obama on this issue ever since Scalia died. They say we should take the constitution literally? Let Obama get at least one pick before he leaves office. If they don't, I will never believe anything they say about the constitution ever again.
Nope. :)

8. It's not really a war if one side has no chance of winning.
Trump will get his nominee through (nuking the filibuster if necessary). This was likely our last chance for a generation to flip the court.

Tired Dem donors feel like their money got burned
Democratic donors stung by Hillary Clinton’s upset loss in the presidential race feel like they just set their money on fire. The sore feelings are a huge problem for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which is trying to rebuild its image and reinvigorate a defeated party in time for challenging midterm elections in 2018.
It’s also a worry for top liberal activists as they prepare for war with President-elect Donald Trump and a GOP Congress that is hell-bent on rolling back President Obama’s accomplishments. Many Democratic donors still feel burned by the party’s 2016 election losses and what they see as dysfunction in the DNC, which will elect a new leader in February.
Adding insult to the injury: The names of many donors were released in the WikiLeaks hack of Democratic emails, believed to have come at the hands of Russian intelligence. It was a mortifying development that has rattled some of the party’s big-money men and women.
“They’re tired,†one DNC official told The Hill. “They’re upset about the election, and there was significant trauma surrounding the Russians. They’re upset and they’re tired.â€

Nap time for Dem donors! I recommend a decade or two of R&R for them...

Isn't that what they always say when republicans are in a position of advantage?
I feel as if democrats could be on the mat getting pounded by a UFC fighter, and saying "Aha! I... *gets punched* have you... *gets punched* right where... *gets punched* I... *gets punched* want you!!!" *gets punched*.

A fight they will lose. Not once but probably 4 maybe even 5 times (President Pence might get one in).
(on edit -- Pence dammit!)

Regardless of which Republican won there would be a war.
Regardless if Obama got a vote on his nominee there would be a war.
Regardless if Hillary had won there would be a war.
There is no course of action the GOP can or cannot control wherein the Dems would not seek to make war with us.
If there is no opportunity for peace there is no reason to fear war.

Oh please, let it happen in my lifetime.
Nothing could be better than to see the cultural marxists defeated and vanquished in America.

And I remember all the dummies cheering that he did it. As a matter of fact, the dummies felt so entitled they wanted Hairy Reid to nuke all legislation subject to the fillibuster. I also remember that those of us here reminded the dummies that it would come back to bite them in the ass one day. You were warned and drunk with being in power you cheered.
Guess what? That day has arrived and the ass biting is about to commence, dummies!!! You wanted it, you got it Toyota!!!
And now you do not like it.
