Another chat with Amazon service re: Trump paraphernalia
Once again I attempted to find out why they continue to sell products that are part of the corrupt swamp of illegal activity we are witnessing.
Initial Question: Why are you still selling Trump products?

11:05 AM PST Steve: Yes. You have numerous product that are from the Trump brand and the sale of them by Amazon will be a criminal act. A President who profits from his office is committing an impeachable offense and you are being a party to the crime.
I will be letting my Prime membership of many years expire if you do not remove Trump products from this service.

I received an email from amazon regarding the washington post bad mouthing Trump and his supporters. I unsubscribed and then went to a new one item ordering on my prime account. Just to be CONSERVATIVE I would put in multiple items in an order. Now, no more. Amazon for picking a political fight with me is going to lose some money.
Of course I actually buy from amazon. The stupid DUmbass, not so much. I have a hunski that says it is not a prime member.

We have, as most service centers do, a wall of shame at work where we pin up the most ridiculous requests, stupid users regarding trouble tickets that come in. This one would most definitely make the cut.

Well, the real ones are sometimes a whole lot funnier than that...
I'll tell you one that, well... wasn't in the tech work but:
I started my professional career as an engineer. One of my first jobs was at a small place in a small town where they manufactured custom heavy hauling rigs and trailers.. BIG stuff, like 100 and 200 ton haulers. It was in the small town near where I grew up, so I knew a lot of the guys there.
I was a rookie, drawing simple stuff, doing load calcs and material calcs, stuff like that... and a whole lot of AutoCad.
The company had JUST switched from drawing on drafting boards and making real blueprints to AutoCad, so it was really new to the guys there... I'm talking like the very day I started is when they were changing over. No one there really knew how to use it very well yet.
"Phil" was the resident eccentric generous in engineering. The guy was still using a slide rule and always mumbled and talked to himself, but he was an absolute materials expert. Smoking was banned in the building, but "Phil" still smoked in the office, they were scared to death that he would quit if he couldn't smoke... and we all took advantage too, we all smoked in there because "Phil" could.
ANYway...
So I'm sitting at my desk and I hear "Phil" mumbling and arguing with himself and I look across the divider and the guy has a RULER, measuring his drawing on the computer screen, trying to figure out the scale and why it wasn't set how he started the drawing. It took me near an hour to explain to him that even though it was zoomed down, the scale was still what he had it set to. He was completely baffled. Remember, these guys were old timers and used to drawing static scale on paper with charcoal.
I dunno, maybe you have to be a CAD user to understand how gut-busting hilarious that was, but we were just about in tears laughing at him and he had no idea why it was so funny.

I'm on the same boat. I started drafting in high school to put myself through college for a BSME. having said that, I can now do the work of 5 people and deaign and detail a machine in 1/2 the time by myself.

Well, I ended up getting "Phil" a digitizer to get him through it.
I made up a buttload of lisp files for them and eventually he dropped the digitizer and was killing it. But boy, watching him fumble with it at first was classic comedy.

One other comes to mind..
I am in charge of the voice infrastructure as one of my roles and one of the guys had me listen in on a call he was doing with an end user. They engineer was trying to test a newly installed Fax machine and was walking the user though it on the phone.
this was a multi-function copier/fax rig.
He kept telling the user to press the "FAX" button on the machine, then enter the phone number. The user was dumbfounded. Finally, I hear her say" All I see is COPY, PRINT and FACK SMILEY" (facsimile). It was a gut-buster.. we had to mute the phone.

In loving memory of my engineer dad, he bought one of the first home computers...set it up on furniture, and read all the literature it came with. Never switched it on.
