I think ar15.com had something to do with the hack, or they knew someone who did it

Is this topic off limits? I have suspicions.

3. i certainly hope so

and believe it's time for the democrats in congress and hillary's campaign to begin talking about it as well. do you think the media might even investigate?

4. Which hack? DU or Russians hacking election??

10. I was talking about the DU hack

I thought that speculation would be running wild around here once we were back up. So far I've heard no one claim responsibility. I know that the folks over at ar15.com thought that the entire thing was incredibly funny, and they seemed to be aware of it immediately after it happened, and they spent a LONG time discussing it with glee. Anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?

13. I just visited that site you mentioned, and you weren't kidding!

I finally found a thread that mentioned the DU hack in a general discussion forum, and another poster wrote "we know" and shared an older thread about it that was apparently created just minutes after the hack. There was 10 pages of them celebrating the hack in that thread, although none of them seemed to know who did it.

What blew my mind was that many of them liked the "message" in the video, which struck me as the ramblings of a lunatic!

Someone posted the following in that thread, but I don't know if it's accurate regarding Sweden:

It was surreal. Suddenly a bunch of threads popped up saying that Trump is God Emporer. The site slowed way down and I noticed it kept trying to load something from an SE (Sweden?) domain. Then the Trump video played. I clicked on Inspect Element (Firefox) and couldn't see a source, but there was a comment along the lines "don't delete this you ****s"

Next there was only the "DU is temporarily offline for updates" message, then you got a usesrname and password popup. Somewhere in there was also a message that the forums were reserved for paying members. Kind of interesting to see in real time

16. Those assholes had something to do with the hack, or they knew someone who had something to do with

It's just too coincidental. I don't buy it. When I used to troll over there (also under the handle Barstow Cowboy) I learned that those guys (contrary to popular belief) don't have an average IQ of 87; some of them are really smart and could've pulled off the hack, and they're OBSESSED with this site!!! Hell, they're the ones who turned me on to this place now that I think of it.

15. I sure don't, BUT

I don't really care what they think, I give exactly negative 87 ****s about the whole lot of them, but I do find it interesting that in the midst of their rapture a whole lot of them *just happened* to come over here and noticed we were hacked. To me that seems unlikely. To me it seems more likely that someone over there either had something to do with it and couldn't help themselves from sharing it, or at least knew who did it and went to ar15.com and posted the news to publicize their efforts. If you look at the times those threads were started it was pretty darn close to simultaneous with when we got hacked. Too coincidental for me to believe they neither had anything to do with it or knew someone who had something to do with it. FYI I used to troll over there under the same handle I use here (Barstow Cowboy) until I got myself banned for posting MSPaint homosexual Baphomet Porn. Those guys and girls are the biggest collection of assholes this side of 4chan.

18. oh I think it is very likely

they are absolute cowards who have little faith in their own stupid conservative ideas, so they feel the need to "see what the other side is doing".....**** them, seriously **** THEM.......they're always screaming about FREEDOM and RIGHTS, as long as it's for WHITE CHRISTIAN GUN HUMPERS.....they can all **** THEMSELVES.

19. It's worse than just that

It's worse than you describe, because now they are taking hostages over there. They have a number of openly gay members who think that these assholes are their friends, and from what I just learned recently the entire thing is run by a man with a Spanish last name, so they're growing beyond their racist/bigoted/homophobic/xenophobic roots. I wish it was just 87,000 or so half-dead, white 87 year old men, but they seem to be growing. I think it's because of the returning vets who have an affinity for those assault rifles that's keeping the gun humping subculture alive. Talk about blowback!

Well this is a devastating disappointment! They aren't blaming us or CU for their being hacked? I've never heard of ar15.com, but this DU thread'll have them :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: !

Hey DU! I think it was a bored nihilistic 19YO kid who enjoyed the archaeological challenge of hacking DU's dinosaurian forum SW.

The primitive does have a strange obsession with the number 87.

I think they've just about blamed everyone but us. Personally, I have suspect that DU was obstructing Marvin the Martian's view of Venus so he took action against them.

They sure do have delusions of their self importance, don't they? I could see Mr. Moskwa complaining to the campaign, due to his financial connections, but congress? Give me flipping break.

 :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

I participate on a couple of outdoor/hunting forums and not surprisingly, DU is a frequent target of righteous derision there as well. On those sites news of DU's hack was posted almost in real time as well. If the DUmmies ever left their own little bubble, they'd know that virtually the entire FREE world hates them, LOL

The reason that people knew "instantly" is that normal people the World over laugh at the morons daily. Oh and as to the "Hack" the inmates really need to look no farther than $kammer, the star sales went off the charts and he is now in the black.

I really figured it would've been the doing of franksolich using his new professional hacking tool, "SK Virtual Adjustable Wrench Version 2.21A - Deplorable Edition." - I understand it's great for draining online swamps, while helping to Make America Great Again.

Somebody should tell "Barstow Cowboy" that if he/she is going to mole effectively, the DUMMIE stereotypes have to be reinforced in a way that gets them to reveal their true selves without looking too obvious.

Though I did like the "taking hostages" line...

Colloquially known as arf.com, they hate the DUmmies just as much as we do, but of course making fun of them isn't the primary focus.  The Arfers were responsible for the hilarious 'ObamaNation' website back when Obozo was first elected.

Well, you have to admit that it IS an added challenge to hack a site using a TRS-80, a tape recorder for a drive, and a 1200-baud modem to get connected.

Matthew Broderick called.  He wants his pay phone hacking trick back.  He also would like to know where there are any pay phones left in this country.

DU moved up from a Commodore Pet to using a TRS-80 as their server?

Probably what this latest downing was all about.  Why else would it take them this long to get back up again?  Takes a while to copy all of those cassette tapes over, you know.

If they upgrade to a Vic-32 or a Commodore 64 they could get a 1540 or 1541 floppy drive. The 1541 could store 170K!
