Skinner, the DU needs an avatar with a photo of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

I was surprised to see that there is no avatar of Barack and Hillary together and maybe that's symptomatic of some of the lingering, yet diminishing divisions here.

A picture is worth a thousand words and even those who don't want her as VP should be grateful that she is hitting the road all around the nation on her own to register voters and pump up enthusiasm for Obama.

She lost the closest primary contest in history, went the full 50 states, and yet has reconciled her loss with great grace and class and is proving what a team player she is.

Can someone generate an avatar of Barack and Hillary together? I like this photo, but I'm not stuck on it. Perhaps someone has a better one. I'm too technically challenged to upload one. Can anyone help here?

For unity's sake, it's a good idea. A picture of unity would be worth a thousand words. I think it would be helpful.

It's something just missing here, not by design, but probably as a bi-product of the primary friction. Who'd have ever had an avatar of them together then? I'd sure like one now.

Why don't primitives just make up their own avatars?

Or too complicated for the primitives to do?

10. This just in, the primary's over dude.

This is a good image of party unity, and your comment doesn't help but continue the strife.

8. Bad timing on the heels of Bill Clinton's non sequitur non-endorsement of Barack yesterday.

13. Can we also get one of Hillary wagging her finger screaming, "Shame on you, Barack Obama!"

That post whore, "Name Removed", seems to be posting hot and heavy on that thread.  Wonder what has he/she/it so worked up?

Is this phenomenon of Hillary outright hate by the Obaminites strictly a DU/KOS/HUFPO occurance or is ti more widespread?

I'm of course hoping it's all over out in the real world.

But it might just be a primitive phenemenon; we'll see.

If "Name Removed" keeps it up, he'll be back in BadCat's top 10!

You know, I'm still curious.

What is it about the primitive way of thinking, that they feel compelled to ask my fellow alum for an avatar?

The primitives can't make up their own avatars on their own, using their imagination and creativity?

I mean, Hell, even Pedro Picasso designed his own avatar for Skins's island.

I'm sure the reason is a bit less complicated than that. An Obama/Clinton avatar sanctioned by Skins is banproof. The primitive knows that possessing such an avatar otherwise will put him/her on the short list for forced banning by those who are offended by either one of those candidates, or the thought of them working in cooperation. The primitives will scour each and every thread for alertable offences until the one who carries the unholy image is removed from their society.

You have to be a contributor to have a custom avatar...

Man, my fellow alum Skins is admirable in the creative ways he milks the primitives.

That is pure genius.

I'm starting to wonder whose side he's on.

At times, I wonder if perhaps one should have to be a registered member here, to use the "search" function, instead of having the "search" function freely available to any and all who come here.

(But seriously, no, I don't think so, and this is not a suggestion.)

The deal is, the lurking primitives are such narcissists that when they come here, they look for only threads where they're mentioned, and not at any of the other really good stuff here.  That sort of defeats our purpose of being a light unto the primitives.

I have never used the "search" function on Skins's island, logging in and "searching" for franksolich.

I occasionally use that handy-dandy Google way of searching when things are slow, that Chris showed me, but 99% or somesuch of the time, I just get out the boat, row over to Skins's island, and upon reaching the beach, look around to see what's there.

I suppose that's the difference between the primitives and decent civilized people.  Primitives have a rather limited, narrow view of the world, in which each of them is the center of it, while decent civilized people like to look at the whole wide world with all its wonders, regardless of whether or not one is a part of it.
