Title: A little note to lurking Dummies - RE: Huma's laptop.
Post by: miskie on November 02, 2016, 06:16:56 PM
I've seen lots of chatter over there - "oh, its probably all the same stuff HRC was cleared over, no big deal".. Etc etc. as you all try to make yourselves feel better.

Well, I'm about to toss those good feelings in the fire.

Lets say there is not one new EMail, and its all the same stuff thats been rehashed. - There is one *VERY* important thing that's different. Those EMails are on an unsecured laptop. - in someone else's possession.  One could make the case that the Clinton's EMail server was super duper secure, unhackable etc etc. But what about a freakin' laptop, that a common thief could grab ? That was being used by someone who *NEVER* had the clearance to do so ?

Yeah. *MASSIVE* security breach. Period. End of list.

Have a nice day, and an even more pleasant evening DUmmies.

Huma deserves to go to jail for a long stretch.  She had a sweet immunity deal and she threw it away.  There was just about only one way to screw up the immunity deal and she did it.  These people will lie when the truth would save them.  Lock her up.

I'm surprised she hasn't already left the country, but, I understand her passport has been revoked? I don't know, just what I've heard.

She better figure out what President Trump can do to help her and figure it out fast.

I'm to the point I want Trump to win for the simple reason he will appoint a special prosecutor to go after Hillary... and I don't like Trump.

Personally if I got elected president I would appoint special prosecutors to investigate all of the DC agency heads.  Don't care if they are dem or GOP, don't care what the public would think, I just don't care.  It is about time these DC assholes get put under the microscope of the law.

Then I would tell congress I am coming after the corruption there as well. And I would go after their donors too. Something is damned wrong when you go to congress without a penny and you become a millionaire. Might not get any convictions... it would serve notice that corruption will not be tolerated.

the laptop was in Weiner's possession.  With his sexting addiction,  he is very vulnerable to blackmail.

I still think this was huma's insurance policy and there's lots of good stuff on there.  I can't see Comey doing the public announcement unless he was positive it is nasty.

Oh, it was someone's 'life insurance policy' alright--Weiner's.  He's facing 30+ years in Federal prison, and he wants it to go quickly, or be reduced by a few years, in exchange for what he knows (and he probably knows a lot).  Abadein's in almost the same situation--she's looking at 25+ years at FCI Dublin in California, or maybe USP Coleman in Florida.  She wants her stay to be as short as possible.  She'll sing as loudly and for as long as she can, to reduce her sentence.

I guess a reconciliation between the two is not likely.  :-)

And if he was visiting porn sites, probably multi-hacked, too.

As a former ISSO I cannot begin to explain how someone is not in jail already.  Institutional incompetence and cronyism has a large  part to play in all of this.  Classified information on an unsecured device is a crime.  Period.  End of discussion.  Training on the handling of classified information makes a point of explaining how an unclassified documents can be inadvertently upgraded by a forwarding authors addition of facts and or narrative.

In the case of the Weiner laptop it is not so much a question of his being blackmailed as it is being hacked.  The simple  fact of two unclassified documents on a single disk is enough to provide sensitive intelligence.  I shudder to think what traffic might have been intercepted regarding Ambassador Stevens movements.  This is how you get people killed.

It has been reported one of the reasons for the traffic was to print documents / attachments for Hillary's convenience.  Printing classified information on an unsecured system is forbidden.  You cannot designate responsibility to a subordinate for classified information just because you want a printed copy.   Huma is most likely guilty of the crime of mishandling classified information.  Whether or not she is guilty of espionage will remain to be seen in future investigations.

There are at least three serious aspects to this:

* Huma's (and possibly other CHILL minions') massive and gross mishandling of classified and confidential materials, and failure to hand over the laptop on which they were stored;

* The Weiner's web surfing habit, which likely included more than a few very shady sites (Can you say, "Honey Trap"?);

* How much of what is known is confirmed, how much Wikileaks and other sources have leaked is confirmed, how much that The CHILL's minions had Bleachbitted is found; both State Dept. business and Clinton Foundation pay-for-play.

Well hillary can't claim ignorance on the matter of cyber security when when lectured State Department employees on that very subject in 2010.

The thing is, Weiner didn't fall for one of those; he found a wayward 15-year old girl in North Carolina (a swing state that Weiner obviously misread as a swinger state) and sent her pictures of him.  She told her parents, and the parents went to local law enforcement.  He knew that what he was doing was ****ed up and illegal; but he figured that HRC's IT minions would find out, not the Feds; hence the file on the laptop's rumored name ('Life Insurance').

While Tom Clancy was still alive, if someone brought this story idea to him with all of the twists and turns that have actually happened, he would have rejected it as being too implausible.

Yup. This story has more twists and turns than the Tail of the Dragon, and more are on the way.
