Stepping away from the computer for the night, but if anyone here is familiar with the Pittsburgh area, I'm going to be making a trip up there in late September and would like to talk to you via PM and find out a thing or two. Now I just need to find out who to talk to. :)
Thanks.

Depends on what part of Pittsburgh but I am on the North Western side of Pittsburgh. I will tell you whatever it is you need to know if I can. :cheersmate:

I lived in the area for a few years. Depends on what you want to know.

I know a bit about it -- no need to PM, lets share with everyone

For the Pittsburghers in the thread -- the first weekend I was in Pgh, I decided to go up the Duquesne Incline.
Mind you, I have a terrible fear of heights.
I paid my money, got in, looked up, then got out and told the ticket booth guy that the next person gets a free ride.
I never did go on it, but I drove up Mount Washington many times.
If there is a more sudden breathtaking view than when you come out of the Fort Pitt tunnel, I can't imagine it.

Don't drink the local beer.
Yuengling is OK (not great, just OK) -- beats the hell out of Genesee beer from Rochester NY

I was serious about the last statement. But the story is quite true (and I wonder if the guy kept the money).

Wow -- I forgot about IC. It is as bad a Genesee...
I wonder if they still have the "you have to buy beer a case at a time" law... anyone know?
;)

Don't drink the local beer.
Iron City may be the worst beer I've ever tasted.

PA has some of the dumbest liquor laws in the world. There are beer and wine stores, and then there are liquor stores. In the beer and wine stores, you can only buy cases. In local bars, you can buy six-packs, but they rape you. Only recently has it been legal to buy beer on Sundays.
I'm close enough to Delaware and New Jersey, so I usually get my liquor from places with slightly more civilized regulations.

You can buy twelve packs and cases at the distributors. You have to go to a bar to buy a six pack. They are open on Sundays now though. :cheersmate: I am not a native and the distributor thing is the most stupid thing I have seen in a long time.

What??? You are crazy...Lone Star in a can is good, but, the bottles are kinda skunky.

OH, son......... ain't NO packaging of Lone Star that is acceptable.
Now, give me some Pilsner Urquell and I'll be content. Leinenkugel's runs a close second.

Is it a secret what you want to know?
I know where the tittie bars are, if that helps.

It is really not that bad since SABMiller has bought the trademark and distribution rights and moved the brewery to Ft. Worth.

Beer (and pizza) are like sex: When it is good it is REALLY good and when it is bad....it is still pretty good.

I am a little bit south of the city.
Here's a pic my 5 year old took last year from Mt. Washington.
