Whoa.
Never mind the original topic, questioning the FBI; this topic starts halfway through the thread.

15. But we're so polite.
And one of these days, gosh darn it, the voters are going to realize that and reward us for it!

16. I think Hillary knows how to sing Kumbaya
I also think she knows how to sing, "Hit The Road, Jack."
I'm thinking she already has a pretty good idea of which one she will be singing once the election results are out. I also think Comey knows, too. He'll stick around for a while to save face, but I don't think he'll be taking his next summer vacation as Bureau Director. Maybe I'm being too optimistic.

18. I hope you are right.
You're in a much better position than I to have some degree of influence. And I realize that governing takes a fair amount of compromise, and that our leaders can't enact all of our liberal fever-dreams.
But, to me, this election has made it very clear that there are systemic threats to our democracy. It's no time for timidity, and I hope Secretary Clinton realizes that. More to the point, I hope the rest of the Democratic establishment realizes that.

22. I hope so too
I will have very little influence in the forming of her foreign policy unless I solicit an ambassadorship, something I am not inclined to do. My wife does not want to move, and though I would probably enjoy the pomp and the circle of colleagues, I'd probably get tired of having to be "diplomatic" all he time. Some enterprising hacker would go find past comments of mine about some of the people I would need to work with, and some of those comments are, shall we say, less than flattering.
I think Hillary and her circle of advisers are only too aware of what they are up against now, and will be up against after the election. No one expected the evil thrown at Obama. EVERYONE expects it to be thrown at Hillary now. Obama selected a team that was ready to get to work, not a team ready for a battle royal mounted against them for merely trying to do their jobs. There is no secret agenda this time. The Republicans threw their cards on the table eight years ago. It has been out in the open for all to see for eight years. Don't expect Hillary to ignore that, or to think that her willingness to cross the aisle in the past will be rewarded this time with anything other than frothing-at-the-mouth hostility, and accusations of trespassing.

A slot just opened up in Tripoli, with the occasional side trip to Benghazi. You should apply!

I suspect that's why Attila Marc the Hun isn't inclined; he's thinking about the high mortality rates of ambassadors under Messalina Agrippina.

Given Marcs postings about what a disaster a leftist world is in Europe but that he still longs for more it is pretty clear he profits greatly from the tyranny he wishes to impose on everyone else.

Maybe he should try for the slot in Pyongang . . .

You know, I've said Attila Marc the Hun is a philistine; despite his background, he's got no class.
He's old enough to remember when publicly expressing a wish for, or a chance for, an ambassadorship was declasse. He's helped to cheapen the diplomatic profession.

DUmmies cheapen any profession they come into contact with.

Seriously, the guy's got no more class, style, manners, grace, than does Big Mo.
The difference being, Big Mo knows she doesn't have any.

Oh Marc, you could solicit until you're blue in the face, but no one's going to ask you to do anything but leave.

I'm sure he'd get a warm welcome in Tripoli and Benghazi. And NoKo is such a well-ordered society. OTOH, Cote d'Ivoire and other West African paradises offer a warm tropical climate.
