3. honestly, this is playing out just fine. the facts are quickly embarrassing them.

and presidential interference with fbi investigations harkens an ugly history and would paint this nonsense a whole different color.

at least, that's certainly not a conversation to be had just before an election....

6. It's just a conversation, see.

A meeting with the boss.

That's what they said to Vince, too...

10. The President can summon the FBI Director for a briefing at any time. The meeting needn't be a public one.

Yes- the optics of the President of the USA dressinf down the Director of the FBI for doing his job would be priceless.

Of course... maybe the reason barry didn't get a heads up notice on this is there is shit on him too in these files...

12. When I have bosses...

like the US Attorney General and the President of the United States, I would run my actions by them before I went and did something - I know what insubordination is.

Jason Chaffetz is not the FBI Director's boss.

Grounds for immediate termination.

Oh, yess. Please do fire the FBI Dirrector just after he announces his looking into YOUR party's nominee...

18. You're saying he gets a pass...

because it would be a "controversy."

No problem with what he has done again to Hillary?

More speculation and innuendo - from the freakin' Director of the FBI?

15. It would be unwise to fire him right now.

However, the President can demand a full briefing immediately, including the reason a notification of this was sent at this time to a Republican legislator. The President can require such a briefing, a discussion, and can make his displeasure known. The President can also release details of such a briefing if he chooses.

Don't underestimate the power of the President in such matters.

He sent it to every committee head, you ****ing idiot.

11. Comey will not be the FBI Director much longer.

He knows that. However, he still reports to the President and serves at his pleasure. If I were Obama, I'd want to have a chat with him soonest.

19. Comey, the partisan hack, will be dealt with after the election

My guess is he won't want to serve in a Clinton admin anyway.

 :o ... Is that... a.... death threat?...

He can also piss up a rope and the FBI can give both the same amount of attention.

If BHO fired Comey, that would be horrific optics politically.

I know I'm thinking Comey better grow eyes in the back of his head. Pretty ballsy move IMHO.
The idgits at the playground seem to be ignoring the fact that she should have never been let off the hook to begin with. She was outright busted, red ^#%^#@ing handed. Lied about it under oath. Snubbed an order to hand over evidence and destroyed it. And that and the half of it.

I still think it was a good move (politically) to not prosecute her. It's done her more damage than anything else so far, people HATE her for getting a pass.. on felonies no less.

I could be wrong and don't care enough to look it up, but I believe the FBI Director is a 'Non-partisan' appointment, i.e. one where the incumbent serves for a set term and the sitting President cannot demand resignation before the term is up precisely to prevent political interference.  It is the cabinet officers and their deputies who are the 'Employees at will.'

I seem to remember that the AG can fire the director of the FBI - but I may be wrong on that too. - If Im not, all Obama needs to do is tug lightly on Lynch's puppet strings to get the job done, then blame her for it if there is any fallout.

That sounds right, but

"Marshall Law" anyone?  An old common misspelled phrase from yesteryear in DUmmyville.  Referred to what Bush #43 might invoke.

OK, looked it up, there is a thorough discussion here:
http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R41850.pdf (http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R41850.pdf)
Turns out there is a statutory term which is 10 years...but there is no statutory restriction on a President removing a sitting Director.  Of course there are yuuuuuuuge political repercussions for doing that sort of thing when the reason appears to be a raw partisan power move, if one recalls the 'Saturday Night Massacre' when Nixon fired his AG during the Watergate crisis.

The upshot seems to be that DU-folk are acknowledging that BHO has pretzellated the FBI to serve his partisan designs. I wonder if DU-folk would be so candid if this news didn't have them so panicked.
