Really liked the guy when the Republicans took over the house in 1994. His rhetoric & public stances have become completely unhinged since his failed presidential campaign in the past 12 months.
Just listened to him as a guest on Dan Patrick's sports radio show, and he was on a strange rant. Will post the audio when the DP app updates the podcast for today. Something happened to him in the past 20 years, and it isn't good.
Any clues from Ohio or area folks?

Not aware of his history and didn't hear his rant, but he was one of a few primary candidates over whom I preferred Trump. He was the MSM's chosen, like that Governor of UT in 2012 and McCain in 2008. The MSM choose tame RINOs they can set up in the primary and then knock down during the campaign for November. So Kasich was a, "Oh please, dear God, NO!" candidate in my view.
Not having heard his rant, my guesses would be that he has either taken his dumping poorly, or he's showing his true colors. Or both.

There were s-o-o-o-o-o-o many promising ones who went bad.

Back in the day, he had the knack for detecting a parade forming and jumping out in front of it. Once he became a governor, his progressive leanings came out.

I liked him too, probably my 3rd choice behind Cruz & Carson during the Caucuses.

Audio is up at danpatrick.com, but can't yet share it. Figure it out after lunch. His rant was mostly about sports, but also who he would vote for. Weirdness.

Kasich always struck me as a big egotist who blew off anyone who disagreed with him and had no capability to re-evaluate and re-assess anything on which he'd made up his mind based on new info. He would have been very vulnerable to the 'Throw granny off the cliff' attacks because he has a history of wanting 'Entitlement reform' in the nature of trimming Social Security and Medicare rather than cutting unearned benefit programs, and his doctrinaire crankiness over economic issues like minimum wage would have gone over poorly in the general election.
