Let's play "Equivalency: Yay or Meh?"
We often hear about "False Equivalency," where defense of an action is simply comparing it to another action and saying "they're both the same." I was about to do that (and technically, I'm still going to do so), but instead I thought I throw it out there under the guise of calling out simple bullshit -- because I really do think there is a case to be made to those who feel what Bill Clinton and CGI were wrong, BUT...what about the Trump Foundation?
Setting aside for a moment the blatant outright illegal activity of The Trump Foundation -- using donations to pay legal bills, buying personal gifts for The Donald, bribing an AG -- what is it that Bill Clinton did that was any different than what Trump supporters tout as being "good business?" I heard one of the MSNBC talking heads express outrage that Bill Clinton was using his name as a way to make money. But isn't this exactly what Trump has based the largest part of his business upon, leasing his name for profit? Remember, Donald Trump owns very few of the properties which bear his gilded all-caps name. One of the very-plausible theories about the secrecy of Trump's true net worth is that is real worth is very much lower than has what he claims, in that Trump bases a large portion of his worth in the monetary value of his name. How is this different than Bill Clinton leveraging his good name in order to make a living (a very good living, at that)?
Further, despite the fact that no one has been able to find any indication of any quid pro quo in Clinton's dealings with donors and his network of friends, the talking heads are saying that it "smells funny." Yet, the book which thrust Trump's name into the public's eye was called "The Art Of The Deal." He regularly brags about making deals, calling upon friends, bringing resources together in order to achieve his desired outcome. The only serious difference I can see here (the falseness, IMHO, in the False Equivalency) is that Donald Trump actually did illegal things with his foundation! The Trump Foundation was a scam which didn't even file the proper paperwork to be called a foundation! It was a money-churning operation for Trump, whereas CGI actually does real charity work and contributes huge amounts of money to various vital causes around the world. But according the talking heads on MSNBC, CGI should be shut down, just as the Trump Foundation was shut down.
So, I ask...Equivalency, Yay or Meh?

hahahaha! ok then...

Ummm... what?
Rob McDUmmy, it's simple. The Clintons offered access to power, and the potential for access to Presidential power, in exchange for money. Period. It doesn't matter what anyone else on earth did, good or bad.
Now, go **** yourself.

It says something when your own ilk won't reply or comment.

The star of the DUmp Rob could be if he had not impugned Frank.

Toast is about as cogent as Hillary Clinton these days.
Don't do drugs, kids. M'kay? Drugs are bad. They toasted Toast.

And if Bill & Hillary Clinton disagreed with Pedro politically, he'd lump them in the same group as Trump without a second thought (not that Pedro is capable of a first thought). But since they're not, he has to rationalize a distinction to convince himself that the Clintons are good and Trump is evil. Being the hypocrite that you are takes a lot of effort, doesn't it McGrath?
Poor Pedro.

My suggestion to my good friend Atman, if he wants an audience more responsive to his posts, is that he (a) "present" the message more pleasantly or (b) express some other sort of message that has wider appeal.

I think what's going on is that too many primitives remember how my good friend Atman insulted each of them at one time or another, and so they're hesitant to draw attention to themselves again by saying something.

If he had not lied to you and accused you of nefarious deeds and then had listened to the kind advice you offered in return he would have been a happy man but once again a primitive bites the hand that tries to feed him and look at the result.

Did TexasToast/Atman blame Frank for "killing" the round red one?

What grated me the most was when he insisted to Chris_ that he didn't own a tan, or light brown, suit, as I'd said he did.
I dunno why he felt compelled to lie like that. I used his tan, or light brown, suit for a while as an avatar, to remind him that franksolich knows whereof and whatof he speaks.

Trump did not have access to Uranium or Gold mines to trade for big $.

Pedro also embarrassed not only himself, but all of DU and the liberal blogosphere, by writing a post in 2004 claiming that Bush43 was going to intentionally lose the election so that when the economy collapsed they could blame it on the Democrats. Normally, an immature and stupid post like that on a site like Skin's island would be just another immature and stupid post among 100's of thousands. But this post was read live on the radio, coast to coast, even to the whole world, by none other than El Rushbo.
Since then, because of Pedro's stupid comment being broadcast to the whole world, the world has, in turn, pointed at the primitives and laughed at both their individual and collective stupidity. And the world hasn't stopped laughing at them. This is what upsets them.

He even bragged about it.
Any normal person would've been so embarrassed he would've run away and hid.

Yeah, .... I chuckled over that, too.
Then, I felt nauseous.

That grates these retarded infants to no end.

The guy's personality and DU-history aside - I don't know much about all that - comparing what DU-folk imagine Trump has done to what The SHREW has done requires actually learning what The SHREW has done! That DU-folk would be highly reluctant to go there is pretty understandable.

I do remember him denying that's what he wrote and a thread at CU was started about him denying it with a link to him saying it. He shut up real quickly after that.

Yeah, he does have that talent for changing his story in the twinkling of an eye.
