Those class action lawsuits (we both got $19.48) next will be Sony
This is our second class action checks this year. This time it was LifeLock. It doesn’t pay much, but is worth the few minutes to file a claim.
We are currently filing against Sony on the Playstation (fatboy) 3. Looks like we will get $9. No idea how long the wait will be. We just figure a year on average.

IF YOU PURCHASED A SONY “FAT†PLAYSTATION 3 COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT CONSOLE BETWEEN NOVEMBER 1, 2006 AND APRIL 1, 2010, A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT MAY AFFECT YOU
The sole purpose of this notice is to inform you of the settlement so that you can decide what to do.
A proposed settlement has been reached in the nationwide class action lawsuit, In re Sony PS3 “Other OS†Litigation, United States District Court, Northern District of California, Case No. C-10-1811 (YGR). This lawsuit challenges the decision to disable the Other OS functionality from “Fat†PS3 computer entertainment consoles through Firmware Update 3.21, released on April 1, 2010. “Fat†PS3 consoles were consoles manufactured with the ability to install a Linux operating system as an alternative to the game operating system. Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC (“SCEAâ€) is the defendant and denies all allegations.
If the settlement is approved and you are a Class Member, you may be eligible to submit a claim for benefits. This litigation involves two classes. Consumer Class A is all persons in the United States who purchased a Fat PS3 between November 1, 2006 and April 1, 2010 from an authorized retailer for family, personal and/or household use and used the Other OS functionality after installation of a Linux operating system. Consumer Class B is all persons in the United States who purchased a Fat PS3 between November 1, 2006 and April 1, 2010 from an authorized retailer for family, personal and/or household use. The benefit for both classes is monetary, $55 (for Consumer Class A) or $9 (for Consumer Class B). The deadline for submitting claim forms is December 7, 2016. Claim forms and exemplars of acceptable forms of proof of use for each category in Consumer Class A are available on the Settlement Website or may be obtained by calling the Settlement Administrator.
You may choose to exclude yourself from the settlement by sending your name, address, PS3 serial number and PSN Network ID along with a statement that you wish to be excluded to the Settlement Administrator at the address below. If you exclude yourself, you will not receive anything but will retain your right to sue. You may also object to the settlement with the option to appear at the final approval hearing with your own attorney at your cost. If you do nothing or object to the settlement, you will be bound by its terms and cannot later sue SCEA. All exclusion requests and objections must be submitted by December 7, 2016.

Well, I suppose if one has the attitude that everybody's out to cheat one, one runs into opportunities like this, to pick up a few bucks.
But my bigger question is, what is a near-60-years-old grossly obese guy doing, playing around with a "play station"? (And a "fat" one-- :rotf:) It sounds like something that younger teenagers play around with, before they grow up old enough to go out dating.

But at least I don't spend any money on it.

About two weeks ago, my wife handed me a check made out to her mother for $19.48 from the settlement with LifeLock, so apparently she filled out the paperwork, too. I'm not expecting anything from Playstation or the Telletubbies or from whoever else the big guy in Bellevue buys kiddie products, though.

While we and the primitives are upset the big guy doesn't appear to be keeping his promise, I'll bet poor dear Marta's even more upset because she was counting on being released of the deadweight around her neck, and having some fun--at long last--with the life insurance money.
