Election Prediction: Republican Voters Stay Home in Droves
That's what I'm expecting, actually. The more Donald Trump appears, the more unelectable he becomes. This creates a dilemma in the minds of many Republican voters, especially those who are on a more moderate location on the political spectrum. What to do? For many, voting for a Democrat is distasteful, but voting for Trump is becoming more and more unthinkable.
So, they stay home. They sit on their hands. They simply can't face the top of the ballot and the choice to be made there.
How many stay home? That I can't predict. I think it's likely to be 10% or even more. That would be more than enough, really, to ensure a Democratic Senate and a pickup of a number of House seats where races are closer than usual. If more ugly crap comes out about Trump or out of his own mouth, those numbers could go up.
And that's not even counting all of the Republican women who will quietly vote for Hillary in the privacy of the voting booth. I know some of those. They're nodding weakly as the men in their lives excoriate Clinton, but they'll act on their own at the polling place. My 92 year old mother is one of them. My wife's 88 year old mother has already voted for Hillary, by absentee ballot.
That's my opinion on this Sunday morning. Thanks for taking the time to read it.
oh for ****'s face...

4. I don't know about you, but I do know some Republicans.
They're all more moderate types, and not one of them is talking favorably about Trump. In fact, none of them are really even talking about the election. Like most of us, they're simply not excited about the prospect of a disturbed person in the White House.
Unlike in other election years, I'm not hearing from them about politics. That's part of my reason for suspecting that many will just stay home and let what happens happen.
I wasn't excited for McCain. I wasn't excited for Romney. But I sure as hell am not going to let Hillary in the White House.

5. One of the things I'm doing when I talk to Republicans is not subjecting them to my strong support for Hillary. They seem ill at ease talking about this election, and when the subject comes up they mostly change it as soon as they can. It's very interesting, and uncharacteristic of them compared to previous elections.
They may not be able to vote for Hillary, but they seem to be unwilling to support Trump. It's a real dilemma for them. So, I leave it at that. It's easy not to vote. I hope they take the easy road, frankly.

9. There is a minority in this country that wants a major upheaval, politically. Rabid Trump supporters are part of that minority. They will not stop supporting him.
On the other hand, we may see a mass exodus from his campaign by some who are part of it. As his campaign yacht lists more and more to the port side, the rats will start abandoning ship. It's already beginning, with his Florida campaign leader pulling out. Kellyanne Conway may be next to bail. Before she was for Trump, she bashed him frequently. She's been getting hammered by many TV news folks, and may have had enough soon.
Trump, himself, may fire some of his campaign leadership. He's done so in the past, and his volatile temperament is likely to come out even more as the campaign falters.
Anyhow, there will always be a minority that supports this damaged, ugly man. Let them. We can't change their minds. We can only work to get our own voters out to make the difference.
You are acting like Republicans are ashamed to admit it!

13. Yes. That's what I'm seeing from my moderate Republican acquaintances. They simply are not talking politics this year, as they have in the past. Even some of my hard-right Facebook friends are uncannily silent, which is not at all like them.
It's not a good year to be a Republican. The easiest thing in the world to do is to skip going to the polls. That takes no effort and no commitment. You just don't bother.
Imagine Republican turnout being down 10% from 2012. That would make an enormous difference.

18. Yeah, OK. But consider this:
It's Election Day and your life is busy. You're not excited about your party's presidential candidate. In fact, you don't like the asshole at all. What do you do?
You skip voting. That's what many people do in such situations. I'm counting on it.
Like all the basement dwelling Berniebots?

Rock head has no ides (or maybe he does) on how many are going to turn out to vote for the non politician that doesn`t take crap from the elite.
-
And think the Neptunians will kidnap Trump, leaving Rs no one to vote for. Yeppers, "That's what I'm expecting, actually."
-
We're not talking about Trump in public, because the second we do, we get branded at racists, or worse-hard to talk politics when you can't have any kind of reasonable discourse with the other side.
As to Republican voters staying home, I feel that's a pipe dream. Simply anecdotal, but I live in a rural area and work a blue collar job-the epitome of middle class. I'm seeing a massive underlying dislike and even hatred for politicians and their ilk in this election that I've never seen before. People who have never voted in thirty years are registering to vote this time around, simply because they are tired of the political games and feel that a billionaire relates to them more than a career politician.
-
The rock head is whistling past the graveyard, and ignoring the great dissatisfaction with Hillary among the Donks.
-
So the huge enthusiasm gap that republicans are rocking, the big lead in independents for Trump, and Hillary Clintoris just calling BernieBots the basement dwelling people they are is sure to make Queen Canquilles POTUS.

Oddly enough - M. Moore more-or-less said the same thing today. That Trump presents himself as a human Molotov Cocktail to throw at Washington, and he seemed to lament that Sanders came as close as he did because the many on the left feel the same way the as many on the right do. Tired of politics as usual.
-
Except for his paragraph about Republican women secretly voting for Hillary, I'm not entirely disagreeable to MM's Sunday mornin' opinion.
(R) GOTV efforts should also emphasize down ticket races/issues.

Maybe it was hear or another site but it went something like 10 million democrats will vote for Trump on Tuesday and deny they did on the following Wednesday.
My first concern is to make sure that Hillary never controls any levers of power ever again. Secondly, I want Trump to win so big the fascist-democrats can't cheat their way for a Hillary win. Thirdly, is what Obama will do when Trump wins. That is pretty damn concerning. I would easily believe that this will be the first violent exchange of power. I could also see Obama doing something to remain such s martial law. The man is just slightly less evil than Mrs. Clintoris.
So in conclusion. Buy guns and ammo, lots of ammo, for the dictator Obama may pull something or the fascist democrats do pull off massive election fraud and Hillary is selected. If Trump beats the margin of fraud and dead and Obama plays by the rules, you have new toys and more ammo. Also gives the fascist democrats and feds (birm) more food for thought.

To the bolded: I heard Rush last Monday say that he had seen a remark somewhere--maybe a message board on the Net--that was written by a Dem in Manhattan, who said that he was going to vote for Trump and deny having done it the next day, along with 40 million other Americans who were going to do the same thing.
Also been buying guns and ammo. :whistling:

There is a LOT of that. People that I have not seen political, at all, are sick of the shit.
....and they are not voting for the (D)Marxist twat.
