Tomorrow's Debate.... How will you watch/listen/cope or are you feeling less stressed than me?
I will admit that I am stressing quite a bit about tomorrow's debate. While I have a lot of confidence in Hillary Clinton and her abilities, as a woman of a certain age who has had to deal with the occasional (fortunately fairly rare) boorish, self-entitled misogynist--with varied success--I know how hard it is. I also know how those watching may give incredible scrutiny to the woman's reaction while giving unbelievable latitude to even the worst behavior by the man. Add to this the low expectations that might well work to Trump's favor, if, perchance, he is able to carry off a more dignified, low key presentation--even while deflecting questions left and right... well I am uneasy.
So, knowing this, I realize I could only watch live on tv, while imbibing rather heavily to contain my stress--which frankly I don't feel like doing the night before a very long workday. So, I've decided the best thing is to listen only via NPR on the radio while I do a fairly intense fitness walk with the dog, weather amenable, or on the treadmill, if not. I figure I can watch video later once I know what to expect...
So, how are others feeling-- excited, concerned, positive, hesitant, incredibly confident or some other combination of emotions? Will you watch? Will you turn off the sound? Will you only listen?

4. I'm not stressed at all. Looking forward to Deplorable's epic melt down!
Why on earth would anybody think Deplorable Don could "win" any debate with Hillary Clinton?
Representative of the false bravado that runs through the rest of the thread--they really are all scared shitless.
I am sure that by now they have all heard about the peril Cankles is facing because of the special debate rules.
This one in particular:
The debate rules state that Clinton will have to “power through†any coughing fit, feinting spells, or other medical crisis should such events occur. The commission reasoned that the candidates are vying to be commander-in-chief of the armed forces and therefore should sustain their shortcomings as a leader should.
http://kenkilpatrick.com/clinton-denied-coughing-breaks/
That the primitives have a sense of impending doom should be encouraging to them--underneath all that stupid they might have some capacity for sound judgement, some tenuous link with reality.
One thing in Cankle's favor, the commission denied her request to use a step stool so at least she won't have as far to fall when her inevitable collapse comes. She's going to be all alone out there, without Huma Weiner and the Diazepan injector wielding guy by her side to prop her up. All alone under the mercilessly hot studio lights and the flickering fluorescents overhead without her special blue anti-seizure sunglasses for protection.

So, this DU-member is a lush who knows Bill Clinton too well?

For whatever reason, I get the sense we're all going to be saying "good-bye" to the 1990s tomorrow night.
One may interpret that any way one wishes.

I think it all depends on which Trump shows up. He has to know that he cannot go off the deep end. If he attacks hillary over her scandals then I think he will be fine. If he responds to hillary's baiting tactic, the he will fail.
Personally I think this is a test to see if Trump actually wants to be president.
We will see.

It seems that about 90% of the threads in DUmmyland are 100% about crap talking Trump. There are 0% content with genuine positive data on Hillary. They are desperate to convince themselves that the beast will wipe the floor with Trump, that Trump will have a meltdown and that the media will crown Prince Trump because they like him. I wish I could live in their fantasy world.
The funny thing is Trump has a low bar because the Clinton machine has tried to convince us that Trump is a dope. And in fact Trump can have a bad night and still recover but if the beast tanks tomorrow night she is sunk. It's gonna be great TV.

I agree. But Trump is committed to this I'm convinced.
But it also depends (get it) on which Hillary shows up also. My crystal ball is telling me that she will be highly medicated. She can blame being subdued and groggy on having new morning but if she has a grand mal live on TV it will be a total disaster.
All Trump has to do is get her all excited and let her scream and hiss her way into the hearts and minds of the voters.

I really dislike seeming Delphic, as if I'm being coy, because I don't mean to be that way at all.
I don't think it'll matter which Trump shows up; I have this sense it all ends tomorrow night, having nothing at all to do with him.

I guess that if the overall perception is that Hillary doesn't meet expectations tomorrow then I suppose that the DNC very well move to take the Clinton machine out once and for all. They don't really have much in the way of time and once they lose control of the interpretation of the polling data it's good night Irene.
If so then it might actually be in Trump's best interest to help the old gal out this one time. Hard to know what will happen but Trump seems to have the killer instinct so this is not likely. And perhaps the dems need her money so they in a way have screwed themselves royally. A real shame it is.

Trump needs to nail this one, seeing as two of the topics are "prosperity" and "securing America", and he has made those central to his campaign.
-
Pretty much agree with Perky on this. Trump needs to be calm, cool, collected, and not slinging a bunch of gratuitous personal insults, sure, but without letting her off the hook on her record...problem is I don't know if he really gets all the big flaws in her record, or will be ready for whatever no-doubt-carefully-prepped current affairs traps her legions of consultants have written for her to spring.
I've got another commitment Monday night, so I won't be watching it, just all the BS analysis the next day. I'm sure the MSM already has the stories about how she kicked his ass already written with just a couple of blank spaces for details.
Personally I hope the witch hacks a lung out a minute and a half into it and has to call it a night.

I`m with you on this one.
My feelings is that to keep Shillary going requires medications to prevent convulsions.
This is what causes her to be sleep walking much of the time.
Add into that situation how much she has to carefully parse every word to try not to get caught in her web of lies will lead to a very subdued performance.
Besides, since the primitives are sure she is going to be magnificent it means her failure will be colossal.

She can't even be honest about her height.

A little off topic: The whole world is talking about that "50 point" meltdown video to the union goons. Why isn't the DUmp talking about it? And why in the world was this video issued by the Clinton campaign? Are they that self-unaware?
-
The 90 minute debate will be boiled to 2 or 3 thirty second sound bites. That is all the press focus on after it is over. The undecided (which both candidates are trying to win over) will become more decided based on that and not who "wins" the actual debate.

1. They haven't figured out how to pretzellate reality sufficiently into the right shape so as to blame it all on a Trump operative planted deeply inside The SHREW's campaign.
2. Stupidity, hubris, and entitlement.

I think Trump will be very presidential. I think Hillary at some point will know she is losing the debate and go on the attack. I think it will be that Trump hates/has a war on women. Trump will then crush her with a one liner about her enabling her serial rapist of a husband. That is when we will see the "crazy eye" and possible a collapse.
I think Trump has several very succinct and brass knuckle remarks about her attacks in the genre of "Well bless her heart." He can't be seen attacking her too much for her lies. Just quick quips and then he moves on to policy.

He's said that he's a counterpuncher. Meaning that he doesn't throw the first punch--but hopes to throw the last punch. I think he will remain dignified unless Clinton attacks him, then we'll see if Kellyanne Conway's steadying influence has had its' effect. My guess is that her influence will keep him in check.
