Trump surrogate and pastor: I ‘overstated’ my biography
Source: The Hill
A black pastor and vocal supporter of Donald Trump admitted he exaggerated his background Friday night as CNN teases a heated interview to air Saturday morning.
“As a young man starting my church in Greenville, South Carolina, I overstated several details of my biography because I was worried I wouldn’t be taken seriously as a new pastor,†Pastor Mark Burns said in a statement late Friday. "This was wrong. I wasn’t truthful then and I have to take full responsibility for my actions.
“Since that time I should have taken steps to correct any misrepresentations of my background. We all make mistakes, and I hope that the measure of my character and the quality of my works speak for what kind of person I am.â€
. . .
CNN is set to air an interview with Burns Saturday morning on "New Day" detailing “multiple inaccuracies in the pastor’s bio, including his service in the U.S. Army Reserves, his education and more.â€

Religious scammers are frequently victims of the truth

He embellished his resume, he admits that.
He's black and he supports Trump so he must be exposed, neutralized, and destroyed.
Who believes that they would've crawled up his keister with a microscope if he had been a Trump basher instead?

13. YOU LIE !
Such strict, unbending adherents to the truth...
except when it comes to one of their own.
in David Maraniss's recent book about President Obama (Barack Obama: The Story) relating to Dear Leader's brief stint at a company called Business International.
Though that's obviously a critical point to make during the 2012 campaign, a more foundational one is that this mindset, as well as most of Obama's stream of "embellishments" (most people would call them "lies") about his time at BI, were known or knowable well before the Illinois senator decided to run for president in early 2007 -- even the one that has the folks at Michelle Malkin's Twitchy.com all atwitter, namely that Obama didn't, as he claimed, have a secretary.
As I noted in September 2008 (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog; HT to Sweetness & Light), "Denko" at the Analyze This blog, who asserts that he worked at BI when Obama was there and claimed that "I’m a fan of Barack Obama," wrote that what Obama did at BI "bears only a loose resemblance to what he wrote in his book."
Here's the comparison of Obama's book-based descriptions of his work and time at BI to "Denko's" remembrances I worked up in 2008 (bolds and italicized comments have been added in this post):
(Per Obama)
Eventually a consulting house to multinational corporations agreed to hire me as a research assistant.
(Per Analyze This)
First, it wasn’t a consulting house; it was a small company that published newsletters on international business. Like most newsletter publishers, it was a bit of a sweatshop. I’m sure we all wished that we were high-priced consultants to multinational corporations.
(Per Obama)
The company promoted me to the position of financial writer. I had my own office, my own secretary; money in the bank. Sometimes, coming out of an interview with Japanese financiers or German bond traders, I would catch my reflection in the elevator doors .....
(Per Analyze This)
If Barack was promoted, his new job responsibilities were more of the same - rewriting other people’s copy. As far as I know, he always had a small office, and the idea that he had a secretary is laughable. Only the company president had a secretary. Barack never left the office, never wore a tie, and had neither reason nor opportunity to interview Japanese financiers or German bond traders.

I'm not making excuses for Pastor Burns, I'm just pointing out the MSM screwed up priorities.
Who deserved the closer look, Pastor Burns or Barry "Sometimes, coming out of an interview with Japanese financiers or German bond traders, I would catch my reflection in the elevator doors" Soetoro?
I limited the list of Barry's embellishments to just a couple from the two year period he spent at Business International Corporation to keep it more manageable, this list is by no means all-inclusive.

He probably feels like it with the whole weight of the MSM landing on him like a ton of bricks.

They hate competition!

"The Benghazi attack was due to an obscure fil released n YouTube."
Susan Rice on every sunday propaganda show.
Barak Obama on every press conference and a presidential debate.
Hillary Clinton countless times, under oath in Congress, and over the caskets of four dead Americans to their families.
Those were lies, LIES. Not embellishments but lies to gain or reatin power.
-
If the pastor supported Clinton, their mantra would be that he was just doing what he had to do to get hired.
-
They hate competition!
You know, as stupid as that sounds, it makes sense. :p
-
The guy should have known better to lie, and yet he did. And he got caught. The best thing for him would be to do some real repenting, and I don't sense that in what DU-folk quoted (which may be their selectivity).
Is the MSM being selective about who they investigate? Two words: Jeremiah Wright.
Are DU-folk fallacious in denouncing all Christians as hypocrites and charlatans? In denouncing all Trump supporters as crooks? Of course. They hate 'em both and their world would collapse if they acknowledged the truth that the vast majority of Christian pastors, Christians generally, and Trump supporters are normal, decent people.
As a related corollary, normal, decent people seldom make the newspaper or 6 O'Clock news. So, just by the nature of what they do, the skews business won't often inconvenience DU-folk worldview with news about the normal, decent people DU-folk hate.

Welcome.
Odd first post.
Happy to see it, just not the usual thing most posters start with.
