DU, I love you! I saw the worry thread and was overwhelmed with gratitude!
I am grateful to have such a loving community who cares about people, in this case, me.
I want you to know that I care about YOU and I'm sorry I haven't posted a Friday afternoon art essay in a while. I had written one and it is fine. But I have been dragged down by some personal issues and have struggled with them. I won't go into details -- too painful -- but this was too distracting for me to do much else.
Now that my head is clearing -- and having your backing -- well, it heartens me.
Actually, I hope to return to Italy in the spring -- to Florence, to show a friend the art that regular tourists don't get to. But my friend's health issues might negate the trip. It makes me heartsick, but I must accept reality.
I'm almost there. Been posting a lot on campaign stuff. It's not the same as the way I felt about Bernie but there are new virtues I have been delighted with in the Clinton campaign.
My already written essay is on Bernini's "Ecstasy of St. Teresa"which was a joy to write.
Thank you Malaise and all of you who have been such faithful DU friends. My heart is healing.

CTYankee, who's no spring chicken--in fact, she's pretty old--is the Hetty Green of Skins's island, and needs read, and looked at, with that in mind.
In case no one remembers, Hetty Green was a multi-millionaire heiress during the last half of the 19th century, but who believed she was poor, she had no money, and complained about it.
The same for CTYankee (trust fund, not earned, money), who on Skins's island lo, these many years past, has claimed dire poverty and destitution, but at the same time has always bragged about her frequent--and lengthy--trips to Europe.
Typical Democrat, liberal, and primitive--"everybody else" is rich, but she's poor.
Bah ****ing humbug.

Been posting a lot on campaign stuff. It's not the same as the way I felt about Bernie but there are new virtues I have been delighted with in the Clinton campaign.
These are the type of mindless constituents the Democrats love. They can purposely deny your candidate the nomination, you can even observe documented evidence about how they did it by reading the emails from the DNC, and yet all they have to do is say "lesser of 2 evils" and the lemmings come back begging to be a part of the party.
I have to hand it to the Dem party. The ability to abuse useful idiots and to still have them carry out your purposes they have down to science. The old, crusty CTyankee primitive is exactly the type of knuckleheads they want.

I realize she probably means she's discovered The SHREW is the bearer of The Magic Golden D but using the word "virtue" in the same sentence as "Clinton"? :argh: :censored:
