"Stop lying about my record!"

Remember when Bob Dole scolded George HW Bush - and the criticism it evoked from the media?

Somehow he had crossed the line of civility in a presidential campaign? You simply did not call your opponent a "liar". That was out of bounds.

Then along came Trump and he started calling everyone names. There was "Lyin' Ted Cruz", for example. Civility, if there was any left, died with the campaign of Donald J. Trump.

With Trump, there was no such thing as civility. America accepted the rude, crude, hurtful, and dangerous remarks of the Republican candidate as a new norm.

It is sad to see America so deeply stuck in the muck.

Projection in the air is thick.

No kidding. Like the Democrat party would never resort to lying.

Uh, it seems to me civility in politics died probably during the 1964 presidential campaign, when Lyndon Johnson's wunderkind Bill Moyers made up all of these lies about Barry Goldwater.

And then it went on, with Hubert Humphrey lying about Richard Nixon, George McGovern lying about Richard Nixon, James Carter lying about Gerald Ford, James Carter lying about Ronald Reagan, Walter Mundane lying about Ronald Reagan, Michael Dukakis lying about George Bush, William Clinton lying about George Bush, William Clinton lying about Robert Dole, Alphonse Capote Gore lying about George Bush, the Bostonian Billionaire lying about George Bush, the idiot currently in the White House lying about John McCain, the idiot currently in the White House lying about Mitt Romney, &c., &c., &c.

Puh-leeze, DUmmies... nothing gives you a bigger 'special feeling' in your shorts than a liberal going off on a conservative in the rudest, most crass way possible. It doesn't even have to be an American Pol. I remember how much DU loved the absolutely obnoxious George Galloway.. So, shaddup.

If the DUmmies are so sure that the shrew will wipe the floor with Trump then they should wager their life savings (I know) in bets with their scum conservative winger family members.

There has never been civility in politics. Politics is savagery packaged in a bright and shiny box with the promise of a plastic toy inside.

You are correct. American politics, over the history of this country, has traditionally been a nasty no holds barred fight.

The dems and dummies are only crying foul because Trump is calling them and their buddies in the MSM on the carpet.  About time someone from the GOP grew a pair.
