We need to revive the Public Option, and pay for it with a combination of premiums and
a federal consumption tax on certain non-survival goods e.g. cigarettes, alcohol, fast food, and soft drinks, etc.
Premiums should be based on your income. The higher your income, the higher your premium. People with low incomes would have their premiums subsidized with the national sales tax.
Healthcare professionals would be compensated at a lightly higher rate than Medicaid/Medicare to attract providers to accept this insurance.

Who the hell are you to tell doctors what money they can and can not make? Plus, your consumption tax will never work. Cigarettes are bootlegged big time because cigarettes are so expensive because of the taxes on them.
-
The first thing the few working DUmbasses would do is quit their jobs so as to qualify for the subsidy.
That has always been the reason they obsess over national healthcare.
They want to leave the workforce without risk of financial impact.

same shit, different day. Deadbeat DUmmies demanding free stuff from the hard working folks.

I believe the DUmmie is talking about the reimbursement rate from the single payer would be, not what they are allowed to make. If so, that's not going to fly with the senior interest groups (Like AARP and other powerful lobbies) who would strongly oppose a different government program paying more for the same procedures.

I would go for this idea provided that medical care preference (Emergency rooms, procedures etc.) is also given to the people paying the higher premiums.
People that are subsidized go to the back of the waiting Que regardless of the medical issue.

They wouldn't say that crap if they had two dimes to rub together.

they would consider weed to be tax exempt because it is a life sustaining necessity for them.

2. More likely they'll blame it on Obama/Dems because they don't understand mess GOPer opposition
created when ACA was enacted

Hoyt the grabber should stick to his bread and butter issue instead of making up things about how obamacare was put into law. Because it only goes to prove in a public setting that he is, well, retarded.

It's hilarious. The more they see their fReEsHit!!11 scams implode, do they start to acknowledge reality?
Noooooooooooooo! The more they delve into ridiculously unworkable brain farts to convince themselves that they can do it.
Next time. It'll work. Really, it will. We just didn't go far enough. The right people......... :hammer:

Just like that couple I read about about a year ago or so. As I recall, they were in SanFran and had a combined income of about $65k. They each took pay cuts to lower their income so they could qualify for subsidies. But they were huge jugears fans and huge jugearscare fans.
IOW, let others pay for them.

Return on investment. Libs need to learn this. Once doctors' pay drops below a certain line then people will quit becoming doctors. Why put several hundred thousand dollars in to an education that leads to a career that pays less than high school teacher? Add on top of that the malpractice insurance, law suites, regulation induced paper work and putting up with bitchy patients there won't be much of an incentive to become a doctor.
When it comes to something like open heart surgery then I want a specialist who makes millions a year, loves his job and wants to keep making millions a year and not some guy or gal who's trying preoccupied with deciding if they want to keep being a surgeon making $20.00 an hour after insurance and taxes.

What the dummies fail to realize is that medicare and medicaid are the big drivers in the cost of health care. They can dictate what they will pay and it ain't shit, so hospitals, etc lose money and they have to make it up somehow or they will go out of business.
Personally I think the fed government ought to give the vets vouchers and send all the single payer proponents to the VA. That would be a win win. Vets get good health care and the VA can kill off the dummies.*
*I hate the VA.

So, when I go to buy a six pack and a carton, I have to show my last year 1040 along with my ID?

Dummie apparently does not smoke or drink. Dummie makes very little money. So dummie wants the smokers, drinkers, and those that make more money to pay for its healthcare.
I like the suggestion that we tax weed to pay for the dummies health care. Now that would make the bernie Vs hillary argument look like a minor lovers quarrel. :cheersmate:

We're already seeing some of this. Between government, large insurance groups, and government, the profit has been squeezed out older meds & vaccines and from staples like the saline solution used to hydrate patients and as a carrier for IV meds. Consequently, fewer companies make these, usually not the top flight pharmaceuticals companies, and shortages have resulted (the supply of saline solution was critically short just a few months ago!). ObamaCare plus the expansion of Medicare and corresponding state-run programs are going to drive doctors, hospitals, and pharmaceuticals companies out of the healthcare business, bankrupt the Feds and states doing it, and kill a lot of people in the process. It will probably take a couple of decades - the pols who inflicted it on the country will mostly be dead by then - but unless some drastic changes are made, it will happen.
ETA: Ain't I just a ray of sunshine tonight?!

There it is. That raycissssss word: Incentive. I read somewhere and I may, of course, be way off, but I thought I read that Doctors in Cuba can be out earned by hustling Havana cab drivers.
Boy, sign me up for Casto U. of Medicine, STAT!

If they wish to dictate what health professionals earn, wouldn't that be structured like public school teachers...with similar results?
