I may be in a small minority here, but I'm sorry as hell about Wikileaks.

It's Julian Assange's private fiefdom. It allows for no input, no review. It's the opposite of wiki anything:
wi·ki
/ˈwikē/
noun
noun: wiki; plural noun: wikis
a website that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users.
I was always wary of Assange because he came off as authoritarian to me, but I appreciated WikiLeaks' early work.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WikiLeaks
Now Assange has decided to intervene in the U.S. Presidential election to benefit Trump. He may have said, today, that they're both equally awful, but he's lying. He's laying off Trump. He won't go after him on taxes or his foundation.
http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/08/06/wikileaks_denies_it_is_trying_to_hack_trump_s_tax_returns.html
Along with others, Assange created WikiLeaks.
Now, singlehandedly, he's destroyed it. And he's been doing that for years, but this shit? It's a nail in the coffin.
It allows for no input, no review.
Doesn't www.democraticunderground.com has a very similar approach to their content???

13. well, that was my first thought. having said that, there's no doubt in my mind
that Assange is a bit unhinged. Not that that obviates in any way, what Wikileaks does.

^^^ A previous thought from the good cali on Wikileaks....
We now return to this week's trashing of wikileaks

2. Assange is not American
So it's unreasonable to expect he'd have any loyalty to the US. Indeed, he seems to be actively undermining our government. As the saying goes: "In chaos, there is opportunity."
^^^ To DUmmies this seemed to be a feature when Assange was publishing the material from Bradly Manning...

1. There's been several other threads about this already.
Clearly a Pentagon/CIA-orchestrated misinformation campaign aimed at taking him down.
They couldn't get at him any other way, they figured they'd try to ruin his reputation with false "rape" allegations.

^^^ Last I heard from DU the rape charges were trumped up to get Assange. When did that change?

7. I didn't know WikiLeaks was going down, but after collaborating in messing with a US election...
...and only on the side of a fascist psychopath -- I will not be sorry in the least if the whole shebang evaporates in a cloud of pixels.
^^^ It would be perfectly ok if Assange was on the side of Hillary

17. For me the point is about WikiLeaks having gone down the tubes due to his hubris
^^^ Please. You know that if Assange was digging up and publishing crap about Trump you would have tingles up your legs and be standing there cheering about the public service he was providing.

DU-folk are not concerned with facts. The SHREW could be caught in bed with a dead woman and a live boy and still get their votes.
Assange seems to me like the Black Dwarfs in C. S. Lewis's The Last Battle: "The dwarfs are for the dwarfs"; attacking either sides when it threatens to win. Not many DU-folk would be familiar with that literary simile.

Hillary aided and abetted her rapist husband for their entire careers.

DUmmie accidentally trips over the truth, shakes it off, and walks on without noticing. Assange is a Discordian, or perhaps what would amount to a particular flavor of anarchist or extreme Libertarian. Anti-establishment no matter whether the establishment styles itself as Left, Right, Center, Fascist, Socialist/Social Democrat, Prog, or whatever, no matter what the social environment or external threat, it's all about the individual ego with no recognition of any need for constraints upon will. And like all of them (When it comes down to brass tacks), his will counts for a wee bit more than anyone else's, otherwise he wouldn't be in hot water on those sex allegations.

The old bitter Vermontese primitive is just sucking up to the primitives to re-establish her street cred since she returned from being a jackal.

Considering Clinton morality, no one would be that surprised.
She'd still be a better choice than the orange lunatic.

Not unless you are angling for a job in a Federal regulating agency.
Aside from the judicial appointments, there is also the problem that every Democrat in the House and Senate would back her to the hilt, no matter how brain-damaged, senile, corrupt, or authoritarian she gets (Or already is), and her first Supreme Court appointment will tip that in her favor beyond recovery. Many Republicans won't support Trump even if he tells them sun shines in the daytime, so it's only the Hilbot that represents an actual structural threat to our system of checks and balances.
That's aside from policy problems with her, such as the fact she would have to redouble the national debt in four years to enact her social agenda, and with so many favors to repay the money boys that's likely to be pretty ugly for everyone on top of a cyclical recession being overdue, and the fact that everything she's ever exercised her fecal touch on in foreign policy has actually made things somewhere between 'Much worse' to 'Disastrously worse.'

I fear that the DC establishment sorts think they have struck a grand bargain with her to protect their positions by pushing her election.
In return I am guessing that her people have insinuated she won`t push really left wing agendas or appointments.
On Jan 21st when the DC GOP leaders extend their hand to confirm the good faith arrangement she will bite it off and spit it back in their faces.

Which is pretty much standard practice that us rank and file conservative voters have become so used to...

If that witch gets in and gets enough of Congress to go along with her, the tax bill for anyone earning more than about $50K is going up pretty seriously. The chances of getting Congress to go along with the free college thing aren't so great, though, so I give that one a somewhat lower chance of happening. She owes enough favors to big money that I don't see her getting all that much more revenue out of the top 10% after all the special cut-outs and favors play out, it's the middle and upper-middle classes that are going to take it right in the ass.
