Rep. John Culberson (R-TX): "The Democratic leadership has adjourned the House, turned out the lights, turned off the mics; the Republicans are still talking about an energy plan so we can drive down the price of gas in America."

There will be Blood !

This isn't going to look good on their resumes. If Nancy thinks this is going to work in her favor then she may want to start looking for a new career field.
-
WHAT are they thinking?
I am sure that when congress comes back in september, they will pass something that makes them look less obstinate regarding energy policy.
otherwise, the republicans will beat them bloody with that issue. the dems won control of congress in the first place with a bunch of blue dogs; I can't believe that they are happy about this.

This has already been posted, or I am losing my mind. Could be both actually.

Ironically, we've already sent the VRWC timemachine 'retirement' squad back to see you!

Oy, if I weren't so cynical about politics in general.
The republicans are less than credible at this point. I mean it's great that they want to save their jobs now, but had they showed some leadership in the past and perhaps demonstrated that they possessed vision, we would not be in this pickle.
Shakes my head over squandered opportunities. I want true leadership, not a bunch of whiny little wimps who cry because the dems rained on their parade.

'Tis true, milady. However, maybe Bela Pelosi (Coach's name for her, not mine) is light-averse, and that's why she turned the lights off. Yes, it's for blatantly political reasons, but the Republicans could actually take back the House with this.

I know I should be a bit more excited at the prospect. If they get the gift of a majority in November (and I do consider it a gift as they have not earned it)... what will they do for us? I think it's time for another contract with America.

Dead bang on Shade. I totally agree. Sometimes you need to take a few blows to the chin to come out swinging. I'm hoping they got the message.

Funny thing WE...is that those folks ran as Blue Dogs...but from all indications I've seen...NONE of them have voted like Blue Dogs since they got to Congress.

From 1870 til 1970 eight out of every ten Kluxers were Democrats (Dixie crats if that offends you) and I've always considered my self a George Wallace Democrat ...

The reason they lost control of Congress in 06 was due to lack of leadership.

It's funny that both parties know how to lose control, but neither knows how to secure it.

Nope I had it right. You're an unabashed racist and it appears a closet Dixiecrat if you support Wallace.
All you are trying to do in a less than clever way is tie a racist Wallace to the Republicans and again in a not so clever way repeat the DUmmie canard that "Republicans are racists".
You were pathetic at CU with these less than clever word plays and you're just as pathetic in attempting them here.
You'd figure that in your time away from the intelligent folk...you'd have thought up a new routine.

Look whackjob if I want to call you a racist for supporting a Dixiecrat stand in the door to the schoolhouse sheet wearing racist like George Wallace then I will.
For you to try and spin him as anything else is pathetic and laughable.
He's a racist and if you say you supported him...well then you are tarred with the same label.
Not anyone's fault but your own for supporting a racist like George Wallace.
