It's time for me to get serious about my health.
I went to orientation today for a new truck driving job. I took my last physical in November of last year. My blood pressure was borderline high then. I think something like 138/80. But they let me go because technically it wasn't considered high yet.
I had to do a physical today and I was worried enough about my blood pressure that I checked it for free the other day at CVS. When I first sat down it was high...about 152 over 85. I rested for a bit and it was lower...about 144 over 80. Then I rested for a little longer and it was down to 134 over 75. I thought I would be okay as long as I didn't have to exert myself before they took the reading. I was wrong.
They checked it three times. 150 over 92, 152 over 94, and after I sat for a little while 142 over 88. Not thinking, I did have some caffeine early in the morning and that may have affected the readings, but I don't think it did that drastically.
So they won't certify me because of that. I still have the job, but they want me to go to the doctor and get checked out and probably get a blood pressure med. It will just push my start date back about a week.
But this is a real wake-up call. It's the first weight related illness that I've contracted. I have to lose some weight and keep it off.

I'm thinking he went into the interview and said something along the lines of, "I'm here to exercise my white privilege. Give me the job", or something like that. Or maybe it was the trump sticker, confederate flag and NRA logo painted on his truck.

Simple. Quit shoving food down your face Tubbs. As an aside high blood pressure is not necessarily weight related but it don't help if you are fat either. If I was you Tubbs I would be more worried about diabetes.
Personally I suspect this is nothing more than an excuse for him getting a rejection letter. I expect later he will post that the company has declined to hire based on his high blood pressure and diabetes.
I hope I am wrong about Tubbs because he does seem to want to be employed. That puts him head and shoulders above the rest if the dummies. Something tells me this may be a setup for a disability claim.

He doesn't want to work, he just wants a place to sleep between paychecks

My thoughts also.

He is just keeping the story line alive.

Tubbs is trying to get sympathy from the retards on a medical. I can understand that however a suggestion...next time let be known that the owner has an 8 1/2 x 11 framed and signed photo of Trump on his desk and that his generous offer of employment was for a non-living wage of $7.00/hour.
And that's how it's done.

Do you see a pattern here? Maybe, just MAYBE sitting your smelly end on the couch eating potato chips all the time has something to do with it?
"I have to lose some weight and keep it off."
I'm sorry, but something tells me you've known this for more than a few days.
But I guess as long as you have commie-care to fall back on, what does it really matter, right?

I do have to say that I was surprised that his first thought wasn't "Awesome! time to jump on the SSDI gravy train"

YES YES! More gun control will fix his blood pressure! He'd be perfectly healthy if it wasn't for those ammosexual gun humpers!

Smoking and alcohol consumption will really do a number on one's blood pressure. I wonder when the last time he's had a beer or cigarette.

For decades, I was overweight, drank and smoked heavily. For the past 5 years, I haven't drank but I'm still a heavy smoker. 1 1/2-2 packs a day. I've also kept my weight under 170, I'm 5' 8".
With my recent problems I'm well aware of most of my vitals.
BP-last check in the hospital was 106/54
pulse- 65 (resting)
Lung X-rays clear.
EKG- good.
SpO2-100%
Cholesterol levels were good except the good kind was kind of low meaning I need to start exercising.
Blood sugar level was mid range of normal.
For a regular healthy person, the normal blood oxygen saturation level (SpO2) should be around 94% to 99%. For patients with mild respiratory diseases, the SpO2 should be 90% or above.
