Corporate controlled media made it so half of the country didn't even know who Bernie Sanders was until the primary season was half over. Add a half dozen different ways of manipulating elections (fraud machines, closed polling places, giving far too much importance to southern red states which never vote Democratic in a general election, disrupted caucus meetings, etc.) and you have an end result of the "final" votes officially counted not being anywhere near the actual intent of the voters.
Do you even know what Citizen's United was about?
Or in other words, if this country still had an honest media, and voted on legitimate paper ballots, Bernie Sanders would have secured this nomination by mid-March.
You got one thing right and have no idea why.

Faux intellect is coin of the realm on DU. In the case at hand, "apologia" was used incorrectly, whether English or Spanish. It means a written defense or explanation. "Perspicaciously" may also have been misused, as it doesn't really fit well in the relevant sentence.
