Florida Dem lawmaker indicted on federal charges: report
A Florida congresswoman has been indicted and will appear before a federal magistrate judge on Friday in Jacksonville, Fla., First Coast News reported.
In March, the president of the organization pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud charges.
In the plea, an individual identified as "Person A" was described as a public official who was used in promotional materials for the group, which may have implicated Brown. The person identified had reportedly benefited personally from funds raised by the group.

Hope she doesn't get to play the Hillary card. I really dislike this racist B#&@h hope they fry her ass, she is so corrupt it isn't funny.
-
Couldn't have happened to a more deserving congress critter. They may not realize it right now but this is probably the best thing to happen to the people in her district in a long time.

This was omitted, perhaps intentionally, form the OP quote:
Rep. Corrine Brown's (D) charges may stem from her involvement with a group in Virginia that advertised itself as a charity but was never a registered nonprofit, according to First Coast News.
Brown was involved in a group called "One Door for Education."
It identifies the group with which Brown had been involved. Hopefully the case against Brown rests on more than the testimony of the person who worked out a plea bargain.

Rep. Corrine Brown indicted for alleged role regarding fraudulent education charity
Brown, of Jacksonville, Florida, and her chief of staff, Elias "Ronnie" Simmons, of Laurel, Maryland, were charged in a 24-count indictment, included charges of participating in a conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, multiple counts of mail and wire fraud, concealing material facts on required financial disclosure forms, theft of government property, obstruction of the due administration of the internal revenue laws, and filing false tax returns, the Justice Department said in a news release.

24 counts! Damn, girl! Go Gatas!

This is all a racist witch hunt, and she'll be exonerated in the end.

Should have taken notes on how Hillary does it! :rotf:
U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown of Florida and her chief of staff pleaded not guilty Friday to multiple fraud charges and other federal offenses in a grand jury indictment unsealed after an investigation into what prosecutors call a phony charity turned into a personal slush fund.
Brown, a 69-year-old Democrat, and Chief of Staff Elias "Ronnie" Simmons, 50, entered pleas in Jacksonville federal court on charges of mail and wire fraud, conspiracy, obstruction and filing of false tax returns.
She has represented a Jacksonville-based congressional district since 1993 — one of the first three African-Americans elected to Congress from Florida since Reconstruction— and is seeking re-election in a newly redrawn district. Later Friday, Brown released a statement saying she was temporarily stepping down as ranking member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, in accordance with House rules.

Wasn't another D super delegate recently convicted of a crime?

Yes, there was one. Can't remember the name at the moment . . .
As for the other fraudster who used a charity as her own personal slush fund (Clinton Foundation, anyone?), all I have to say is . . .
GO GATA!

I am surprised no one is crying racism since Corrine Brown is indicted, while Hillary Clinton has not. :mental:

This woman is all kinds of stupid.
“Last week was very rough,†Brown wrote. “Two black men were needlessly gunned down by police; five Dallas police officers were slain by a demented man; and on Friday I had to appear in federal court.â€
Calling the indictment “very scary,†Brown said her “spirit remains unbroken.â€
“My conscience is clear because I’m innocent,†she wrote. “I’m not the first black elected official to be persecuted, and, sad to say, I won’t be the last.â€
