Ban the ammunition that can be used in them. Or ban the clips that holds the ammo.

You can have all the damn AR's you want, just can't shoot 50 - 100 rounds.

If you can't kill the damn rabbit with a couple of bullets, then you need to learn how to aim better.

Hint: More than one bullet, other than a headshot, ruins the meat.

2. I believe this point has been discussed several times on DU

That would be unconstitutional.

17. No need to even ban them just practically regulate them. Also, the avg gun owner should not be able

... to easily get devices that give them more or on par firepower than the avg police dept.

Have you SEEN what kind of firepower the police department has? If citizens had that kind, you'd be screaming up the wazoo.

Only NEW 10 round magazines legal in California. Hundreds of thousands of large capacity magazines were grandfathered and are perfectly legal to possess and use.

BANG!

There are other threads where they are certain Obumbles could issue an executive order banning at will various guns or accessories.

I can't (can) believe they're all in a frothy frenzy over guns.  Don't they know that gun sales consistently skyrocket whenever they do this?  Elections get lost?  Don't they also know how obvious and transparent it is, that their hierarchy of identity values has been cruelly exposed?

Those freaks are convinced gun control is a winning issue.

Me? Run on that platform long and loud, from the rooftops loud.

Shhhh.... you'll give it away.

In a related tidbit, I had a former Concealed Carry student call me today and ask about a recommendation for a new AR, and some training.

There is a natural balance in the universe.

They are half wits that exist only to leech off the labor of others and the fact that there is a threat to the USA confounds their obsession of having tax dollars showered down on them.

Do those DUmmies realize that Ar-15s are chambered for more than one round? They are made for several different calibers.

You'd think the DUmmies would really get behind an AR.

They are a gender-neutral tool that has no round preference, since they are non-binary in that aspect.

That post that "liberal N proud" thought oh-so-clever is so filled with ignorance as to present some difficulty as to where to start.

:thatsright: As was already laughed at by th4 and PGR, "clips", ::) . :thatsright:

:thatsright: Even a DU-member alluded, very vaguely, to the fact that courts have already seen through back-door schemes to ban firearms by making them extremely difficult or expensive to obtain or use. :thatsright:

:thatsright: :thatsright: And, a bit beyond what you pointed out, "liberal N proud" seems unaware that the AR-15 system uses multiple calibers of the same ammunition that a bolt-action or single-shot rifle would use. :thatsright: :thatsright:

As for that magical 10-shot magazine does the "liberal N proud" fool not realize that extra magazines are readily available, and a reasonably skilled shooter could change magazines in a very few seconds?

One of the most commonly purchased caliber on the AR-15 platform is the .22. A lot of people like them for plinking.

I wonder whether "liberal N proud" has learned yet that Mateen didn't use an AR-15 type rifle (http://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2016/06/13/narrative-fail-orlando-islamic-terrorist-use-ar-15/) He needs to move his goalposts a bit, and come up with an excuse to ignore the MSM's disregard for their presumptive duty to report accurate information (the WashPost has already said that the difference doesn't matter (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2016/06/14/the-gun-the-orlando-shooter-used-was-not-an-ar-15-that-doesnt-change-much/), so I'm sure "liberal N proud" is equal to the task of formulating his/her rationalization).

th4, DU onlurkers are likely pretty ignorant, so maybe you should explain that "plinking" doesn't mean shooting people.

The shooter reloaded at least 3 times (assuming a 30 round mag was full at the beginning). 49 dead, 53 wounded = 102.

30 round mag and 3 reloads = 120 rounds.

Those same news show still are ignorant of the difference between semi-automatic and automatic. Or maybe they're just dishonest. "C. Both" works for me.

I'm glad you didn't include that animal among the dead. A very appropriate distinction.

I wonder how many of the victims were hit with shots that had already passed through other victims first.  The weapon used was a SIG MCX carbine, which comes from Exeter NH in .300 Blackout, not 5.56x45 mm.  The .300 Blackout is a necked-up 5.56 cartridge, so it will function in magazines that are designed for 5.56.  Also, he had a Glock 9mm, type unknown by me, and may have used that to kill some victims.  Add to that the very real possibility that the police fire directed into the club may have killed several of the dead . . .
