I just went out to water the tomatoes I have in containers on the porch. There were two perfectly ripe cherry tomatoes on the vine. I popped them into my mouth and bit into two balls of pure joy!!!! They spurted their warm juice all over my mouth and made me the happiest woman alive. I sincerely recommend going out and doing this yourself. You will never been the same again! :-)

Coincidence....seriously, as i was opening this post, my 7 yr old came running inside with today's haul from our grape tomato plants!
-
I love tomatoes...any size....just off the vine....like biting into sunshine.
You do know the guys are going to have a field day with your original post don't you, Mamacags?

:rotf:
I love peaches. I'd like to have a peach tree in my front yard.
-
I agree, I have recently had the first few tomatoes of the season, the maiin crop won't ripen for a while yet. It is the taste of summer.
-
And the pic I showed her shortly after biting into those juicy balls of goodness....

I have peaches, apples, and pears ripening on the trees in the back yard as week speak. I don't know if the peaches are going to grow but they look like perfect little peaches about the size of a golf ball. We have grapes growing all over the place back there too. We didn't plant any of these, they came with the house but we brought them back to life. They are paying us back HUGELY this year. I am going to be taking bushels of pears to people soon. (I hate to admit it but I really don't like pears or peaches)

You were the one that got that bat into that state. You are into flying rat bestiality!
-
I hope he's got a bat girlfriend, because he sure doesn't have any hands.
-
He could be like mini-me and use his crooked nubs.
-
Bri is the only person I know that pre-ordered the mini-me sex tape and cried when he sued to stop production.
-
That's ok, I'll just have to make my own with him.

Why not try roasted peaches
15 g (½oz) butter
4 large peaches
4 tbsp honey
2 piece cinnamon sticks
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease an ovenproof shallow dish with a little butter. Cut peaches in half, remove the stones and place in the dish in a single layer.
Drizzle over the honey, add the cinnamon sticks and place dish in oven for 15 minutes. Take out, check, and spoon the runny honey over the peaches, return to oven and bake for a further 15 minutes.
Serve with creme fraiche or ice cream.

Same here! :o
In all seriousness, as a child I loved to eat the cherry tomatoes right off the plant. We had several growing in this little flower bed that was right next to our swimming pool. A fun summer treat to be able to eat them like that.

Well, I was going to write something about the way the OP wrote about her experience, but thats been thrown in the trash compactor.

Sorry if I offended anyone with the original pic. I didn't know I could get into trouble for showing the frank 'n beans belonging to a bat. :-)

I'd ask you why you even had access to such a pic......... but I'm afraid of the answer, so I don't want to know.

It wasn't just the picture. Some of the comments that followed were a little beyond what I'm used to reading. :lmao: (especially the "mini-me" jokes. :puke: )
I was stupidly lurking on TMZ the day they posted portions of that tape. It will take more than mind bleach for me to ever fully recover from that. I need amnesia. :bawl:

Mamacags....I'm jealous of your trees!
We had apples that were doing just fine until the crows discovered them! The damn things pecked at them, then they fell off the tree and the deer ate them. :banghead:
We have Granny Smiths and our next door neighbor has some kind of red ones.....their's are still on the trees. Apparently the crows only like Granny Smiths.
We have little peaches, but I'm not sure they will ripen. We only had one peach tree(came w/ the house) and we added two more this year, in hopes of getting more next year. My sweet of heart loves peach cobbler and it would be nice to make it from our own trees.
We have a huge area of blackberries that we really need to clean up better to make it easier to get in to get them. The deer like them too. Along with my hybrid daylillies... ::)
We did plant a couple of blueberry bushes and raspberry bushes...but they haven't done very well.... :(
