I think this is GD, but just in case; Hillary...STOP YELLING!

I've heard lots of discussions about this...it's okay for men to yell, but not women, so if we criticize Hillary Clinton's shrill yelling, it's because we're misogynist pigs. But, I promise you, it is nothing of the sort!

Hillary Clinton needs to tone down the yelling!

Trump doesn't yell. Bernie kinda whines, but he doesn't yell. But, when Hillary Clinton gets on a roll she starts YELLING, in a horrible, shrill, unpleasant monotone. Face facts, people. Listen to her. She YELLS where she doesn't need to. Ironically, it was my wife who really pointed this out, listening to a recent speech. As she made her point, Hillary's voice heightened and got louder and she started YELLING. Not speaking, she was yelling at her audience. She didn't/doesn't need to do this. Bernie doesn't yell. Elizabeth doesn't yell. Even Donald doesn't yell. But when Hillary gets cranked up, she YELLS, and it is most obnoxious, and a real down-side for many people.

So there, I said it. So shoot me.

11. Why am I surprised?

Even though I tried to explain in my OP, I still get shit like this.

I'm not "mansplaining" anything. I'm making a valid point. I think I stated pretty clearly, none of the other candidates do this, Carly Fiorina didn't do this. Sarah Palin was annoying as hell, but she didn't YELL at her audience. Clinton YELLS. Stuff it into your little men-hate-women bubble all you want, but Hillary Clinton has a horrible, shrill speaking style that is very grating to a lot of people.

But then, what do I know about anything...I'm just a man, so my opinion and observations can't be valid.

23. You are manslpaining. You gave excuses Sanders and Trump.

and in this post you are excusing others with the famous *but* --

This is classic mansplaining.

I will respond no more.

33. Absolutely WRONG mis-read of my post.

I made NO EXCUSES for Trump or Sanders. None. You are projecting your bullshit onto my post.

Hillary-splaining.

38. You're a man who prefers that women be soft-spoken.

When you say things like stuff it into your "little" bubble, that's you trying to minimize or diminish what other people think. Calling a female speaker's voice "shrill" (twice) is another tell. So many conservative writers have called Paul Krugman "shrill" (in his writing!) as a putdown that, on liberal blogs, it has become an internet meme.

Of course you think your point is valid. You don't like Hillary Clinton. She contradicts your idea of femininity. She says things you don't like and she has the audacity to say them forcefully. Trying to bolster your position by citing that your wife agrees with you (she's a woman so that cinches it!) is a weird kind of arguing from authority. Many women have the idea of how women "should" sound, or act, and amazingly enough it corresponds to what men, particularly their husbands, think.

57. No. You are simply wrong.

You are a woman trying to diminish my valid observations about a professional speaker.

There is a dictionary definition of "shrill." Surprise as may be to you, it does not mean "Men who hate Hillary."  It is a tone. If many people think Hillary has a shrill tone (I'm certainly not the only one), maybe you should look at that, instead of trying to tell everyone that they shouldn't question Hillary.

Voice coaches exist for a reason.

18. Remember when it was perfectly OK on DU to make fun of Ben Carson's speaking style?

Oh, he was a man. And a Republican. Or something.

Tell me you're really going after me because of like, Hillary.

If your hair doesn't stand on end when she reaches the crescendo of her talking points, where she is YELLING, SCREAMING in that shrill, gravely monotone, then you've tune out reality. She is simply not a good orator, especially after hearing President Obama delivering beautiful, eloquent, impassioned speeches without screaming at his audience.

There was an awful lot of vag-splainin' goin on in that thread, and it was damn shrill, too.

Memo to the vag-splainers: She got the nickname "Shrillery" the old fashioned way. She earned it.

I agree with Pedro on this one.

The Hildebeast, regardless of what she's saying, is one of the most obnoxious public speakers I've ever heard.

Sad to admit, but Texas Toast WAS correct about that analysis.
